Cheney belongs in jail, says Dreyfus

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/03/19/art.dreyfus.gi.jpg caption="Dreyfus was in Washington to promote preservation of Civil War battlefields."](CNN) - He played Dick Cheney in the recent Oliver Stone film 'W,' but Richard Dreyfuss made clear he's no fan of the former vice president.

In Washington Wednesday to promote preservation of the country's civil war battlefields, Dreyfuss quipped to Politico he's not missing former President Bush's No. 2.

"I miss having him in jail, that's where he belongs," the actor said.

Watch: Cheney: I worry very much

Dreyfuss is known for his outspokenness across the political spectrum, calling his former director Oliver Stone a "fascist on the left" last fall.

Cheney himself isn't holding back punches of his own. In an interview on CNN's State of the Union with John King last Sunday, he derided the Obama administration's national security policies and said they have made the country less safe.

Just about every single politicians needs to be in jail – the current administration and majority party leaders not exempt.

He forgot to mention the jail cell should be big enough to hold others
like Clinton, Geithner, Dodd, B. Franks, Pelosi.
The former administration was full of bull ,but this one isn't getting any better. It hasn't been 100 days and they are already giving away our money for bonuses to the same people who caused this mess.
What do you say about that??? Speechless????

    Dreyfus is RIGHT !
Cheney is a CROOK and a LIAR !
He and Bush did nothing but line their own pockets with Gold while in the White House and did absolutely Nothing too help the Commonwealth people of the United States.
Cheney LIED from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet about Valerie Plame Wilson and should be held to answer for it.

I agree, George, especially cheney how many others can "hunt" after beer guzzling, shoot a guy because he is behind us! and then tell the cops to come back a day later, all without a hunting license and that's just the little stuff.

Do actors REALLY think we care what they have to say? I'm so tired of hearing what some under-educated actor has to say. Even if Cheney deserves to be punished. Lets try to write a story when there is a person with an opinion that has an IQ higher than a hamster.

Bush and Cheney proved forever, there is no accountability in America.

Richard is right, Cheney and his neo-con friends most likely plotted this war so Halloberton can get a big pay day, tap into Iraq's oil,
and make sure his rich buds got richer. Cheney should be in jail.

Cheney and Bush should be prosecuted and put in Jail.

They mislead Americans by fabricating a false intelligence report that Iraq has WMDs. Iraq was attacked for Bush's greed for oil.

4200 US troops have died because of this unjust war.

Cheney and Bush are war criminals.

Thank you Mr. Dryfuss. Maybe you should give up acting and run for president. I'm sure you are well qualified.

Many of you are ready, willing, and eager to listen and follow Rush, an entertainer, but don't want to hear from Dreyfus, an entertainer......go figure!

I guess Dreyfuss missed the part in the constitution about "innocent until proven guilty", "the right to a fair trial", "the right to face one's accusers in cout" ... he's obviously already found them guilty even in the absence of any charges or indictments, and since he's a well-known actor, I guess he thinks that should be good enough to just toss Cheney in jail.

Richard Dreyfus' comments show clearly why so many directors view actors as nothing more than talking furniture. Obviously, he should stick to his craft and leave the thinking to those with appropriate qualifications.

Actors should stick to doing what they do best, pretending to be someone else.

Why is everyone crying that Bush, et al should be in jail? What about others who have done some of the same things. And by the way, torturing captured terrorists is no problem for me–they killed over 3,000 innocent people on 9/11 and they should rot for what they did!! Terrorists have NO rights when it comes to our judicial system, as far as I am concerned.

I frankly see nothing wrong with what Cheney or any of them in the Bush administration did. Let's not get hung up on what Hollywood thinks–they are immoral and unintelligent when it comes to what they think should be done with the former President and staff. What about the Clintons.....were they so perfect? No way! Go home, Dreyfus–I don't want your opinion.

The comments in here make me sad. Mr. Dreyfus has the same right in this country as all of you do to say whatever he wants about whatever he choses to comment on. Considering how many people don't have that right, we're lucky, why do people get so angry about that? Oh well, everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. But why are so many people insulting, isn't it ok to disagree about things, isn't that what makes us Americans???

Cheney continues to torture. He tortures logic. And he tortures all of us when he opens his mouth. I'd rather be water-boarded than to listen to this unrepentant war criminal try to spin us on how we were spun into a war based on lies.

Cheney belongs in Jail for a very long list of crimes against the United States.

Cheney will end up in jail. He's far too evil to escape it. I don't know for which of the many crimes he has committed, but I know he won't die before he goes to jail for one them. Watch this space.

What's the big problem? Cheney should at least be on trial for the way he bends the Constitution to suit his needs. He and Bush are both criminals in the eyes of millions of people for a great many misdeeds.
