The health care provider announced it will host the awards and dinner ceremony in the Lone Star State to pay tribute to those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of women's reproductive health and rights and promotion of family planning and prevention efforts.

Clinton is set to receive PPFA's highest honor, the Margaret Sanger award, for her advocacy of "women's health and rights throughout her public service career."

"Ugly Betty" actress America Ferrera will co-host the event along with PPFA President Cecile Richards.

This is great news and very much deserved.

Nobody has done more for reproductive freedom and choice than Hillary Clinton.

Remember her fight with the out of touch Bush administration over the FDA approval of the Plan B contraceptive?

The right wing wack jobs pretend to be "pro life" but show no concern over unwanted, impoverished or unhealthy babies born into dysfunctional situations.

First of all, Margaret Sanger was an advocate FOR eugenics based on race, intelligence and social class. I wouldn't accept an award with her name on it unless it was accompanied by a very beefy check. Second, the pro-abortion lobby isn't the champion for women's rights, women like Sarah Palin are. How do you compare a woman who has turned away from motherhood by choosing abortion to a woman like Sarah who embraces motherhood (even her handicapped child that Sanger would have forced her to abort if she could have) and is the governor of a State?

  5. DNC must be changed.

It's soooooo sadest and terrible the fact that 'ABORTION" clinic center,Planned Parenthood Federation has a lot of power than
Women's Reprodutive Fertility centers in which America of 84%
are Christians. In addition they have overused it to political issues.

    GO SARAH PALIN/2012

Thank Goodness for Hillary!! Until now, the men certainly weren't concerned about women's health and reproductive issues!
If I am raped, Planned Parenthood will ensure I don't have to have a baby as a result. Glad my daughter won't either. Enough with the religious crap that has taken over our country.

Don't they mean "death-care" provider? Or can they just say "America's Largest Baby-Killing Service"?

I'm more upset that "Ugly Betty" is co-hosting the event. I think Hilary is a worthwhile recipient of this award. We have always known that she promoted abortion rights and now has the opportunity to spread that "right" around the world. Wow!

Thats our problem in a nutshell! How much money i wonder has Planned Parenthood given Mrs. Clinton.
The stances these politicians take have nothing to do with their personal beliefs, the constitution,or their constituants views. Its all about which companies,or groups attach themselves to these politicians holding fundraisers, donating money, buying lavish gifts and trips.
This is also the type of thing a good "Honest" news agency would investigate and report on!
Good luck getting the libral media reporting on that.

People act like Planned Parenthood just does abortions and that's it. They also provide free condoms on college campuses and in their offices, and provide health care to women who need it. Grow up and stop trying to make it sound like Planned Parenthood runs around shooting pregnant women in the stomach with shotguns.

Margaret Sanger's eugenics theories have about as much to do with the contemporary mission of Planned Parenthood as Jefferson's and Lincoln's republican ideals have to do with the GOP's current ideology. Your red herring is rotting.

Calling Planned Parenthood a health care provider is about as appropriate as calling Purdue Chicken a strong advocate for PETA.

Hillary Clinton is proving to be an excellent choice as our Secretary of State and she has done a lot for women's rights in this Country in all her years of public service. Planned Parenthood has also done much for women's rights and I applaud them and their efforts. I do wish contraception can be pushed more forcefully so that the number of abortions women have goes way, way down. Abortion is a nasty business. No one likes abortion and I hope I live long enough to see the day when they are no longer necessary because contraception has been used so diligently, both by women and men!! Men are just as responsible for abortions as women are. They don't love the woman they got pregnant and they won't support the child they brought into the world. Men shouldn't go "free" over this issue.

I don't know why people are upset about abortion but are just fine with genocide in Africa. It doesn't make any sense. Where were the pro-life people marching in the streets, screaming at politicians, demanding to end the genocide? There just must not be very many pro-life people out there. Either that, or maybe different lives have different value. If so, let's put a dollar amount on it. The value of a human life is 100X their 10 year earning potential. For children, we use their parents earning potential. See, that wasn't hard. We can put a $ figure on human life.

hmmm, the planned parenthood people I know, do NOT just abort babies, they dont abort babies at all ! what they do DO, is counsel you on your choices, and if you want to keep your baby, they work with you on health issues etc, and if you dont want to keep your baby, they also counsel you on your options, which also include adopting the child out..too many of you dont even know what planned parenthodd really is or does !!!
