Meghan McCain reportedly inks major book deal

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/04/10/art.getty.meghan.mccain.jpg caption="Meghan McCain may be topping off her recent publicity blitz with a big payday."](CNN) - Meghan McCain may be topping off her recent publicity blitz with a big payday: the daughter of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain has scored a six-figure book deal, according to the New York Observer.

Hyperion, which reportedly inked the deal with McCain, has not responded to a CNN request for comment or details on what would be the 24-year-old's second book. (Her first, released last fall, was a Simon & Schuster children's book about her father's life.)

McCain's attention-grabbing blog posts and television appearances over the past few months have kept her in the post-campaign spotlight, and made her one of the year's hottest young Republican pundits.

She's blamed her languishing love life on her father's presidential run; feuded with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham; and raved about the GOP's congressional "hottie," 27-year-old Aaron Schock of Illinois.

Most of her recent blog posts have focused on her feelings on the future direction of the Republican Party. "As someone who has been personally attacked when I invited political discourse, I firmly believe that talking about our differences – instead of mudslinging – can only bring people closer to the Republican Party and force them to take a second look at their candidates," she wrote for the Daily Beast last month.

There is no word yet on a possible release date.

Richie's right – only for the rich. The average man isn't going to stand for this sort of thing much longer; he will rise up.

I'm so sick of this girl thinking people care about what she has to say. As for her book, I wouldn't buy it, and I don't know of anyone who will.

I dont trust either party or any political junkies pushing their agendas. Both parties are manipulated like puppets to keep the populace at each others throats while they do their dirty deeds from their castles.

Maybe we should just listen to what she might say. It's not light she is that far to the right. Sounds like more of a moderate Republican or even an independant. Ok she is young but so were the millions of voters that voted this past election, as well as the same group who will one day shape our world and economy. I am Democrat, but that doesn't mean we can't listen to someone. If all else maybe the book will make for good coffee table discussions. Lets be open minded and listen before we past judgement.

OK, so daddy talks to a publisher and brokers the deal. She' ll have someone plant ideas in her head to make her think she actually wrote a book. The publisher throws some cash her way and the little princess is happy. "Look daddy, I made my own money", 'Yes little sweetheart, you are a very smart girl. Good girl."

As long as Meghan thinks like a Republican, her book and her future are of no interest to me.

She still doesn't get it. Meghan, you need to join the Party of the People.

It takes a nation to make the changes, not just politicians.

So anyone with an iota of fame or connection to fame can just pen a book now and make millions? They wouldn't be making this deal if there weren't a sizable market of potential readers. Don't you people have anything better to read?

    You go Meghan!

I am sure you will outsell, with ease, Coulter, Ingraham, Bruce and the rest of the Republican Cougars.

Unfortunately people will buy her book and she's be on best seller list for many weeks making alot of money that she'll probably publically state she is donating profits too..., yada, yada, yada...

But who out there really cares what this very wealthy, very previleged young lady has to say? ... I know...a lot of suckers.

She has been spoon feed all her life and has no idea what it really means to struggle.

A book? What on earth has she done to write a book about?
Her father has experienced incredible highs and lows in his life and his books were worth reading. Her mother is a businesswoman and devotes a lot of time to charity work while raising a family so a book by her might be worth reading.

But Meghan? I'll say it again – what has she done to write a book about?
