Jindal: 'Give the new administration a chance'

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Thursday that Republicans should "give the new administration a chance" and suggested that former Vice President Dick Cheney should tone down his criticism of President Obama's national security policies.
"I think Democrat or Republican, we should all agree that our current president, our former president would obviously want to do everything they could to keep us safe," the Republican governor said on ABC's Good Morning America Thursday. "I don't think we should question President Obama's patriotism or his intentions."
Cheney has been highly critical of Obama, saying on CNN's State of the Union last month that the president's policies will "raise the risk to the American people of another attack."
Responding to a question about Cheney's remarks, Jindal said it's fine for both parties to have an "honest disagreement" on the best way to handle America's national security and praised Obama for "showing more flexibility when it comes to Iraq than maybe some of the campaign rhetoric suggested."
Jindal, seen as a rising star of the Republican Party, was himself critical of Obama's message during his trip overseas earlier this month and said he would have liked to see the president offer "more substantive policies."
"We need to stop going overseas and apologizing, criticizing our predecessors," Jindal said. "I think it's great that he's certainly well-received in foreign capitals, but I'd like to see more substantive changes from our allies."

If hell exists, I think it just froze over. Thats the last thing I expected to hear from Jindals mouth. His major screwups over the last six months have made my husband and I withdraw our support from him.
Jindal is trying to make some sense finally! Too bad is is just words words words; trying to improve his image.
No, No, No, Mr. Jindal we shouldn't be going overseas apologizes, not the perfect, never done any wrong U.S.of A. Heck to this day, America have not apologizes to the African-Americans for slavery, and all it's effects. After all they weren't as good as the white man, so why should America apologizes, right Mr. Jindal.

Another republican talking point, to say Obama went over seas and apologized for the USA is a LIE! He simply apologized for the previous BAFOON that was in the White House! He had to, because the world hates us right now, and Obama has to make sure they all understand he cares about them too, unlike the BAFOON bush! Any educated American understands the difference, and so does jindall, he is just throwing chum to the tank of sharks, but he will NOT succeed in getting any other votes.

I think I could like Jindal...for a republican...if he keeps his senses about him and stays away from Rush. This flip-flop is a good start as long as he doesn't flip back the other way!

But Bobby...other countries EXPECT us to appologize because we were wrong. If we don't appologize, they will simply assume we are still following the failed policies of your party.

President Obama has gone out of his way to applaud good works done by the Bush administration, Senator McCain, etc.
You see, in the real world there are people who aknowledge both good and bad from themselves and others. They appologize for wrongs and yes, take responsibility for those wrongs.
Now where there are wrongs done by the former administration, he is right to try and undo them.
Accepting responsibility and calling for better relations is what a goon person does.
