Caroline Kennedy denies Vatican ambassador rumors

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Caroline Kennedy is denying persistent speculation that she will be President Obama's pick to be the next U.S. ambassador to the Vatican.

Kennedy, arriving at the White House Tuesday afternoon for an event celebrating the President's signing of national service legislation named after her uncle Sen. Edward Kennedy, told CNN she has no plans to serve as ambassador to the Holy See.

"No, not that I'm aware of," she said about the post after agreeing to take just one question.

That's all we need as Vatican ambassador: a CINO... "Catholic in Name Only".

Why don't they make her a representative to something she is qualified for, like Dog Pond Administrator? Why and who is pushing this unqualified rich girl who has no qualifications as a representative?

Of course she's not. The Vatican would never be ok with that, and it would be really stupid for the White House to appoint someone who is pro-abortion. That is no way to attempt to have diplomacy with the Holy See.

How ironic to name a woman as ambassador to the religious order second only to Islam in misogyny.

Good thing as the Holy See has already made a statement that he would not accept her nomination due to her stance on pro-choice!

How can she be nominated? She supports abortion, embroyic stem cell research, etc. She can't possibly be acceptable to Vatican ...

Ambassador to the Vatican? I thought "In God We Trust,"-–the rest pay cash-–do we really need an ambassador?

It makes much more sense for her to be the Ambassador to either the UK or France. The Vatican doesn't make much sense.
The reporter should have asked the broader question.

This would futher anger Catholics, as this women is a marginal Catholic at best, and pro abortion. She has scandalized practicing Catholics by her stand on Abortion .
Any Catholic who has denied the teachings of the Church publicly becomes expostfacto nonCatholic (excommunicated).,
Therefore Ms Kennedy cannot serve as Embassator to a Church who's teaching she does not accept.

Why can't CNN wait until there IS any kind of announcement instead of stupid speculation?

Thank goodness she did not end up becoming New York's Senator. We dodged a bullet with this one. After reading her interview in the New York Times I noted she is a vapid intellectual wasteland with nothing to contribute.

The last thing our nation needs is to make her our ambassador.

OK," not that she is aware of" doesn't mean "no."

The bigger question is why this should be a problem. Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg (come on CNN, she IS married and carries her husband's name!) is an active political fund raiser, interested in education, and of a Catholic family which is also a political dynasty. Seems to me that makes her pretty appropriate for such a position. If we can select former actors (such as Shirley Temple Black) as ambassadors under a Republican President, actors and wrestlers for Governors, and comedians for Senator, why not?

If she has the credentials, sure. But, coming from a Democrat, please don't use your name alone to get a job.

Just like how I don't want another era of more Bushes. George-W ruined it for Jeb.

She's not going to be the ambassador to the Vatican because the Vatican wouldn't accept her. The Kennedys are pro-choice and pro-stem cell research. The Vatican has pointedly requested Christians (preferrably Catholics) who are anti-abortion and against stem cell research.

Why do you insist on headlining any outrageous remark made on FOX?
Intelligent people realize what a worthless cable station they are and
    give them no creditibility.
By acknowledging them is that saying your agree with their warped
    standards and support total bias?
