Biden rides train after warning to avoid 'confined places'

(CNN) – Joe Biden didn't heed his own advice.
On Friday, just one day after he warned his family to avoid "confined places" like subways and aircrafts, the vice president took the train from Washington, DC to Wilmington, Delaware. Now he plans to ride the train back to the District Monday evening.
Biden, a long-time Amtrak supporter and veteran rider, attended the kickoff of a $32 million renovation and restoration of Wilmington train station in Delaware Monday morning, telling onlookers, "The people who work at the Wilmington train station, the conductors, the ticket collectors - they are a part of my family. And, for our family, this station is home."
"I am so proud to see Recovery Act funds taking care of critical needs here at the station and putting people to work," the vice president told the crowd.
During his long tenure in the US Senate, Biden was a daily train commuter, traveling to and from his home in Delaware to Washington.

There was nothing wrong with Joe saying he told his own family to stay away from confined places; planes and subways. What's wrong wit that. He didn't tell the rest of the US to stay away.....I would rather an honest politician with a big mouth than anything else. Forget decorum.

I agreed with our VP's position – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure Grandma use to say. But, it unfair to say our VP rides the train as if there could have been anyone else in the car other than the secrete service.
Biden makes Dan Quale look like a rocket scientist. Talk about being put in the corner with a dunce cap on. I guess Biden got finished writing " I will not speak unless spoken to" 1000 times and now must ride public transportation and hope he does not get the swine flu.

was wondering, is that train powered by diesel engines, or electric third rail? because, has anyone noticed, or is it just me; the price of a barrel of oil has climbed from $33.00/barrel in January, to $53.00 now; didn't we elect a democratic administration, who said oil interests were a real threat, excuse me..by the way, this is not trudy lundburg reporting..
