The press is increasingly failing our democracy. Media in our culture is sourced from too few sources that only care about making money and furthering their agenda. They also focus on trivial topics that only serve as gossip. Remember, news is only news if it covers topics people don't want you to know. Anything else is just free advertising. We need more objective investigative reporting and less sensationalized "news" (aka fox and msnbc). News from PBS remains the best of the bunch and I worry about the news papers going down and not providing us the investigative reporting we desperately need.

I love our new President and his family.
God has blessed our country with a great man to lead us out of the 8 years of republican war, torture, ruined economy, and shame brought upon our great country by Bush, Cheney, and the rest of the republican party.

He should praise the press. They're firmly in his court and have done more to boost his poll numbers than anyone in his administration!

Heaven forbid the press talk about his broken promises on the budget or letting people read bills for 5 days before signing or the massive debt he's putting us in!

The press is very disapointing, hiding iformation that people need to know and decide for themselves. It's ugly and people know the press is both lying and witholding information for them. The press will will continus to lose followers with this tactic. Besides, the press is suppose to work for the people, not the politicians. People are now making fun of the press.

I agree that he should aplaud them. however the government itself should be more forthcoming with the press thereby enabling the press to be evev more effective
