WASHINGTON (CNN)–The University of North Carolina men's basketball team, winner of the 2009 NCAA championship, met with President Obama Monday at the White House.
Obama talks hoops with Carolina Tar Heels
WASHINGTON (CNN)–The University of North Carolina men's basketball team, winner of the 2009 NCAA championship, met with President Obama Monday at the White House.
Led by coach Roy Williams, the Tar Heels posed for photos with Obama after presenting him with a personalized "Obama 1" jersey and framed photo of the president with the team. The photo was taken after Obama hit the court with the team for a game of pick up during a campaign stop in Chapel Hill in April of last year.
President Obama welcomed the team to the White House and also thanked the team for "salvaging my bracket and vindicating me in front of the entire nation." Obama choose the team in March to win the NCAA title.

Our Pres. is dynamic, intelligent, forward thinking, sympathetic in a way that only someone with his life experience could be and.... he got game too!
The Blue Devils will be there next year.
Obama should stick with basketball and leave the presidency to those who are qualified.

Mr. Obama i'm sorry I though banks are going under. Car companies failing,and a budget that to rich for our country to afford. Oh that's right and two wars. Thank god we have a presdient like this who waste time ,and place us all in danger.

Did you say this to any of the past Presidents? It is tradition to welcome championship teams to the White House. You seem clueless (the President is paid $400,000 per year – same as Pres. Bush was paid) and unpatriotic.
North Carolina and virginia are very progressive states......

That's what I'm talking about, a President who knows how to win.
Allen – If you are going to spew out numbers – at least be correct. President Obama makes 400,000k per year. Also, other presidents have hosted winning teams. It takes about 15 minutes (if that) out of his day. Don't forget he works 24/7, NOT 8 to 5. Don't be so spiteful, life is much better when you can see the good.
To all these Republican whiners, can't you get through your thick heads that you lost the election? Don't you have decency to appreciate what Obama has on his plate and how hard he is working? Can't he have some relaxing time? Remember your great leader Bush took one whole month of August off. If he were on the job in August, we may have prevented September 11.

Wow, it's hard to understand the hatred. It's common for Presidents to welcome olympic atheletes, collegiate champions, MLB baseball teams, etc. to the White House.
I love the guy that wrote, "You are getting paid $500k to do a job...". I think that the U.S. government ought to sue Bush for the total amount he was paid over 8 years.

Talking hoops (or anything for that matter) is above his pay grade.
The right guy is President.
He knew which team to hang with while shooting hoops. He sank those 3-pointers in Iraq and knows how to pick the winners.
And that's just basketball.

Steph I agree the previous Presidents also welcomed champions to the White House. Seem as though if the President isn't sitting with his nose to thew grindstone every minute of every day folks have alot to say. I am glad to see him do his job and do it well. Maybe some of these whiners need to be reminded President Obama wouldn't be pressed so hard if the last President did the job the whiners thought that he could do! GO TARHEELS! I had them on my bracket too!
