Liz Cheney suggests Obama 'siding with terrorists'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Liz Cheney joined her parents on a trip to the Middle East in March 2008."]
(CNN) - Liz Cheney is picking up where her father left off when it comes to taking aim at the Obama administration, saying Tuesday the new commander-in-chief appears to be siding with terrorists.

In an interview on Fox News, the daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney sharply criticized the new administration for agreeing to release photographs depicting alleged abuses at U.S. prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan during the Bush administration.

"I think it is really appalling that the administration is taking this step," she said in the interview. "Clearly what they are doing is releasing images that show American military men and woman in a very negative light."

"I have heard from families of service members from families of 9/11 victims this question about when did it become so fashionable for us to side, really, with the terrorists," she continued. "You know, President Obama has a lot of rhetoric about support for American military families, support for our men and women who are fighting for us overseas. But if he really cares about them, then he wouldn't be making such an effort to release photos that show them in a negative light."

Late last month, Pentagon officials said the hundreds of photographs released are from more than 60 criminal investigations from 2001 to 2006, and show military personnel allegedly abusing detainees. But the officials rejected allegations by the American Civil Liberties Union that the photos show a systemic pattern of abuse by the military.

In her interview Monday, Cheney also echoed recent calls from her father for the Obama administration to release classified documents detailing information yielded from the aggressive interrogation techniques since denounced by the president.

"They seem only to be interested in releasing things that really paint American in a negative light and don't give the American people a full picture of what went on," she said.

Good for her. Call them out and tell it like it is. Obamabots won't want to hear it but he does not care about America - he does not care about our military. He is out to destroy this nation and/or become its first dictator and his supporters will just sit back and let it happen and say just give me my check. That goes for the corporate world as well.

Well, if Liz Cheney doesn't approve, we should all obey.

Get over yourselves, corrupt Cheney syndicate.

This Cheney family is seriously trying to cover something up !!!!!!!!!!! They are scared out of their socks about "the secret" coming out. If you have to try so hard to hide something, that thing must be horrible. But whatever it is, the truth will come out and the American people will know.

Shut up Liz. You sound just as naive as your father. Fox News needs to be banned. They don't even report history correctly. I listened to Keith Olbermann last night correct all the false statements Bill O'Reilly made concerning Winston Churchhill. Fox News is completely irrelevant.

its funny how six years ago, it was "unpatriotic" to say anything against or that disagreed with the Bush/Cheney administration, but now it is ok for Cheney the Blowhard to criticize everything done by the current administration?

Also, how is it "siding with terrorists" to release evidence that a few rogue soldiers tortured and abused prisoners? Seems very patriotic to me. America can only be great if we learn from our past mistakes and keep from making them in the future.

I'm just speechless. What is there to say other than the fact that I would love to see Liz's face if Cheney gets thrown in the slammer for war crimes.

Can these people be tried for treason along with torture? They are acting like the cretins they are and only reinforcing the good luck and brains we had by not electing mcnasty and that other woman from Alaska.
What is the cheney family afraid of? That if daddy goes to jail, as he should for war crimes, that they will lose it all?

She is 'suggesting' he sides with terrorists, while she herself is married to the most famous domestic terrorist in US History.

She's white trash, with a passion to hate black people, as evidenced by her ignorant claims of terrorism while blindly ignoring the crimes against humanity that her husband joyously partook in.

I find it appalling that Dick is having his daughter do his dirty work. I also find it appalling that after all these years they still speak about 9/11 whenever it benefits them politically. Enough already. You left the families high and dry and you use them for political gains within your shrinking minority. Stop polarizing america. The days of "you are either with us, or against us" are over!

"They seem only to be interested in releasing things that really paint American in a negative light and don't give the American people a full picture of what went on," she said.

So keeping everything top secret and lying like your father and his little puppet president did gives the American people a better picture of what went on? Liz, you're such a tool. Have a nice day!

Since we're hearing what Liz Cheney has to say, how bout we hear from Mary Cheney too? I'll bet she has a few choice observations on the Republican Party.

You can't make this type of stuff up...

The GOP doesn't have anything better in its game plan than this kind of malarkey?

No wonder the Republicans are self-destructing......

Well, where was Dick Cheney when the photos of Abu Ghraib prison guards were released?

I'll tell you where he was...he actively casting a negative light on a handfull of military personnels that Cheney decided were going to be fall guys.

If he really cared about them, Cheney would not have allowed the release of these photos or at least spoke up against it like he and his irrelevant daughter are doing now (not that he is any more relevant).

  20. Pragmatic

Its time for the Cheneys, father and daughter to go. Faux Noise interview? Somewhere comfortable and safe – where anything outrageous but "conservative" babble is taken for gospel. DIdn't see Dad Cheney ever do much for vets .. of even serve in the military ... 5 deferment chicken-hawk and his daughter who can not stand seeing the truth... just wants to hide what dear old daddy really did under a big, big old rock.

Is it not bad enough we have to listen to former VP Cheney? Now, we have his daughter adding her two cents worth! The whole family should just get lost.

The Cheneys have been watching Jack Bauer too much! Torture may be acceptable on TV, but not in real life. Our country is better than that!
