Virginia GOP chair: Obama bows to dictators

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/04/20/art.getty.obama.yellow.jpg caption="The new chairman of the Virginia GOP said Obama 'bows to dictators that would like to destroy this country.'"]WASHINGTON (CNN) - The new chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia is sounding a little bit like the old one.

Pat Mullins was elected to lead the party earlier this month by the state GOP central committee after the former chairman, Jeff Frederick, was ousted after a series of embarrassing missteps. Frederick garnered national attention during last year's presidential race for drawing a comparison between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden.

Mullins, the new party head, said something similar while speaking to the Virginia Beach city committee meeting on Monday. An audio recording of the event was provided to CNN by a Democratic party operative.

"I'm particularly excited I'm not a Democrat," Mullins told the audience. "Since I'm not a Democrat, I don't have to defend a president who goes overseas and bows to dictators that would like to destroy this country. I'm delighted I don't have to defend him."

Mullins was referring to video shot during April's G-20 Summit in London that showed Obama lowering his head while greeting King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The White House said that Obama was not bowing, and that he shook hands with the King, who is shorter than Obama.

Fulfilling his role as the state's Republican partisan-in-chief, Mullins also disparaged Democratic National Committee chairman and Virginia governor Tim Kaine as "a part-time governor who's making a full-time salary." He called Virginia Sen. Jim Webb, who earned a Navy Cross and two purple hearts in Vietnam, an "embarrassment to everybody in this commonwealth."

A spokesman for the state Democratic Party said Mullins "ought to apologize to Virginians for personal attacks on the commander-in-chief and a decorated war hero."

The Republican Party of Virginia did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Well I guess Mullins will have to learn like the rest of his loser colleagues that are no longer in office. It's so funny how the republican party always take the low and dirty road when they're losing seats all races, cabinets, the majority vote and then the election in general. It's pretty interesting to watch your party Self Destruct like it's doing with people like Rush, Cheney and Palin lead you guys up the creek without common sense!

That's right, Mr. Mullin–keep those fresh ideas coming! Are there any Republicans left who aren't buffoons? I swear, I think they're all in the pay of the Democrats. How else do you explain Cheney, Limbaugh, Rove, Gingrinch, and this clown? Everytime they open their mouths, more red states turn blue. Please, please, please KEEP TALKING!!!!!!

They say President Obama don't have to destroy america, The republicans and Democrats has already done that over the past years.Look at the job loss, loss of iras, loss of homes, etc and etc. I have seem so much hatred out of people. I'm afraid that we are fixing to hit a civil war. It wouldn't suprise me if it doesn't happen really soon.

he doesn't have to defend a president who bows to foreign dignitaries ?? lol.. no, he has to try to wrap 8 years of disasterous republican rule in washington in some sort of dressing that will distract people from realizing the republican party has always been soft on terror, always acting in the interests of defense contractors and NEVER in the interest of american soldiers, lunatics on finances, and a party held hostage by right-wing whackjobs. i wonder how long the republican party is going to believe the US electorate is stupid enough to continue buying their lies and exagerrations..

Come on politicians...I thought all of them, regardless of party, were college educated. You know that he was not emotionally bowing to this guy but practicing diplomacy appropriate for each country that he visited. Republicans bow and blow Limbaugh yet the criticize the sitting President. Let's all be clear...people seem to hate Obama more than Clinton and Clinton is a Democrat too. Wonder what the reason is then for this hatred of Obama. Hmmm...

I like how conservatives whining and moanin’ about Obama's bow but apparently we forgot about Bush's antics? Where was Pat Mullins when Bush held Saudi Princes hand and DID kiss him? what the heck is everyone going crazy about? I am going to assumed that someone will say, “Well, I don’t see President Bush bowing like what Obama did which is a big difference.” However, if that’s the case then what if Obama had been caught holding hands with the Prince then you, Rush, Worldnetdaily, Newsmax, Steamer, and Fox News would have been all over it. Bottom line, we need good relations with Middle Eastern people. It is Middle Eastern custom to bow to a King, no big deal it’s like shaking hands. Our country is a joke and getting mad about this… And even if he was a Muslim,…that doesn’t make him less of a human. I am atheist I respect all religions unlike Christians who preach “love everyone” except: Muslims, people that are not white, people who are not Americans.......

The pridefulness of Pat Mullins is akin to being promoted to Captain of the Titanic (after it has begun to sink).

Keep on, keepin' on, GOP. The majority are strongly against you.
