Limbaugh blasts Powell attack

The comments came hours after Powell fired back at Limbaugh and former Vice President Dick Cheney over recent remarks questioning his GOP credentials.
"Rush Limbaugh says, 'get out of the Republican Party.' Dick Cheney says, 'he's already out,'" Powell said at a Tuesday night event in Boston, according to the Boston Globe. "I may be out of their version of the Republican Party, but there's another version of the Republican Party waiting to emerge once again."
Powell drew ire from many in the GOP for his decision to endorse President Obama's candidacy, and said earlier this month that the party would be better off without Limbaugh.
On his show Wednesday, Limbaugh mocked Powell's comments. "And now there's an agenda, an emerging agenda, that he's waiting for for the Republican Party?" said the radio host. "The only thing emerging here is Colin Powell's ego. Colin Powell represents the stale, the old, the worn-out GOP that never won anything."
Limbaugh, who has been called the de facto leader of the Republican Party by leading Democrats, also said that he is resigning from the position.
"I am resigning as the titular head of the Republican Party," Limbaugh said. "Clearly I am not the titular head of the Republican Party, it's not an office I sought, it was an office position that rather was ladled onto me, and one I was appointed without by acquiescence."

Everyone that voted or endorsed Obama should be thrown out of Republican Party – Cheney and Rush. This is the wisest saying of Cheney and Rush. I guess Colin Powell along with about 55 million Americans should be thrown out of Republican party; that is the wises way to re-build Republican party. Rush and Cheney are wises men ever lived. These foolish men should keep quiet once and for all, so that we Republican can rebuild with Powell and other good guys that remain in Republican Party.
Lefties, why all the anger and hatred? You guys won last November...remember? Lighten up! You are getting exactly what you wanted including higher taxes, less security, bail outs, and more government. The funny reality here is that the people you are teeing off on with these comments (Rush, Cheney, Palin, and the GOP in general could care less what you think. Division among parties division among the country i was once told while playing sports there is no bad play as long as everyone knows what it is and everyone does there best to execute the play why so much finger pointing Rush help come up with ideas an means to improve and chill out with the blame game if Dems fail the country we all suffer and vice versa wake up everybody too much is at stake to keep blaming others especially your own party!
Why is Powell so reluctant to officially split from the Republican party? When you endorse and vote for the democratic presidential candidate and you constantly criticize republicans ... that kind of makes you a democrat.
We need to find a way to identify and shame the decision makers who allow someone like Rush Limbaugh to have a microphone over the air.
Obviously the first amendment frees them from any legal problems, but those companies that buy advertising time from him and the radio stations that broadcast his message need to be flooded with complaints. He lies, distorts, and ruthlessly shames people constantly and they are supporting him.
I think voting for Obama means that you're a member of the Democratic Socialist Party and not a Republican.

Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney just doesn't like Colin Powell because he is an honest man who does care about this country. Remember they are part of the stale Good ole boy network where they are still upset because slavery was abolished. We know why they don't like Colin Powell. I think Powell is correct or the Republican party will split into a two. One will be a sane party and the other a party of the extreme right (the ones in control of the GOP now).
As far as Rush Limbaugh, I don't agree with much of anything he says. He's just an entertainer and I find him amusing. It's unfortunate so many people take what he says seriously.
If the Republican Party has any chance in the future it would be with Powell's direction, surely not 13% Cheney and the blowhard idiot Limbaugh...
