WASHINGTON (CNN) – Former DNC chairman Howard Dean is coming out with a new book that makes the case for Democrats' ambitious plans to reform the country's health care system.

"America has had 'socialized' medicine since 1964,'" Dean writes in the book, according to a release issued Friday. "'It's called Medicare; it covers every American over 65, and they are very happy with the program. The rest of America deserves a similar option.'"

The 2004 presidential candidate's book will be electronically published first, released as an e-book on June 5 and then as a paperback on July 1. The book will also be made available through an Apple iPhone application.

Dean, the former governor of Vermont, was a practicing physician before entering politics.

...because the government hasn't spent enough money that we don't have already? Granted, health care costs are a challenge and there are a lot of people in situations where they do not have sufficient health care. But if there is one way to be even more reckless with our tax dollars than they already have been it would be to ram through a hastily slapped together health care program. It has the possibility of becoming another economic tragedy for this country... one we might want to avoid until we see how long it takes the current mess we are in to recover. How about waiting until the stimulus and financial bailouts show to be either effective or not and then consider what the government should do about health care.

Ever heard of the 50 State Strategy?
You would do well to read a book by Howard Dean. It might give you party some ideas on how to return to a status above regional majority.

Mr. Dean, those people who have worked all of their lives do deserve health care. They have paid for it for many years and have earned it. What the working people don't want is to foot the bill for those who haven't contributed a plug nickel to the cost of any system, whether it is health care, schools, or anything else we pay for with tax money. Even your time that we pay for should be spent improving AMERICAN lives who have paid their taxes.

Howard Dean is a foolish overbearing jerk. I'm as likely to buy his book as I am in buying a used car from him.
