Obama expected to announce 'cyber czar' position

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama is expected to announce Friday the creation of the position of cyber czar, a person who will coordinate the nation's efforts to protect government and private computer systems from hackers, criminal gangs, terrorists and spies, people familiar with the plan said Thursday.

The czar will report to both the national security adviser and the head of the National Economic Council, the sources said.

Obama will not name anyone Friday to the post because the selection process is ongoing, they said.

In addition, the White House will release a 40-page report that sets broad goals for combating cyber intrusions, but does not spell out in detail how to do so, said the sources, who would not agree to be identified because the report has not been released.

I'm sorry, where in the Constitution does it say anything about czars?

My copy mentions three branches of government with their various responsibilities, but says nothing about czars.

Could we get rid of all this archaic and outdated terminology like "CZAR"? Will s/he be wearing black thigh-high boots complete with a big fur hat?

Another Czar ? Does Comrade Obama mean to take on the title of Supreme Commander or Annointed One? While President Oblamo's stimulus plan wastes billions of taxpayer money and we continue to lose jobs, our fearless Socialistic leader is creating Czars This is lunacy. The US is nationalizing the auto industry – has already taken over AIG – and is close to taking over some banks -- Pretty soon the national language will either be French as we go to pure socialism or Chinese as China will own most of the US because of the trillions of debt we owe them. Meanwhile as Obama meddles in the free market, investors are becoming wary that no investment is safe as the government could take over the company and, like GM, force shareholders to gie up millions. The liberal press is afraid to critiize Obama based on his black color, while the US goes down the toilet economically in a sea of red ink – Pathetic.

Is Dick Cheney tech savvy? If so, I can't wait for his comment on this.

In this country it has become us against them. Our elected officials no longer speak for "We The People". Our government has become the monster that lies and cheats the American People. Our politicians will say anything and do anything to get I to power. All this other talk about Rush and all the other clowns out there are distractions from the real truths in our society.iris so sad to watch all of this unfold to the people who's eyes and ears are open. Who Have We Become As A People, As A Nation. ********************************
