Last year, the Progressives' Conference gathered in Washington with a vow to "Take America Back." This year, there's a new party in the White House - and organizers are meeting under a new name,"America's Future Now." Bob Borosage of the Campaign for America's Future speaks with CNN's Bob Costantini about the road ahead.
Folks both the Democrats and the Republicans have been selling themselves as the party of progressive government for the last four decades. Progressive government is the movement of bringing in the “New World Order" and we are very close to this becoming true. We are no longer following the rule of law set forth in the U.S. Constitution. We are no longer a country where personnel freedom and liberty are the norm. Our nation under God, is very close to becoming a thing of the past.
@ phoenix86
I HAVE looked up liberalism and I go by webster's definition and most major encyclopedias both online and written and one thing is most certain. I am a proud shiny blue progressive liberal democrat.
I believe in individual rights and equality of opportunity and support for: freedom of thought and speech, limitations on the power of governments, the rule of law, an individual's right to private property and a transparent system of government...ya know, all those things we lost under the Bush Administration.
I would never profess to be apart of a group unless I have done my research. Don't ever assume one is ignorant, especially me.
@ Reality King..... and ALL of the GOPers........ don't you folks realize that the "Socialist" cries are tired OLD politics????
America is not falling for your fear-mongering.
BTW you should look up "socialism" so you know what it actually means!
I'll betch George Soros, ACORN and the unions all had hospitality suites at that meeting.
Ya know what really went wrong with this country? They showed the movie "Road House" too many times on cable. Think about it: Everyone wanted to be like Brad Wesley. He lived in a mansion, drove a monster truck and had a pet stripper. Who wouldn't want that? So all of us, whether we could afford it or not, went out and bought a mansion and a monster truck. Pet strippers are way more expensive to maintain, so only the super rich (The Donald, The guy who married Anna Nicole, etc.) got them. The only problem is that Brad Wesley had a town with about 4 businesses to shake down: the bar, the auto parts store, the diner and the used car lot. Not a lot of protection money to be had there. His wealth was really just lots of credit card debt (that part got lost in editing). Eventually this Dalton guy comes along and takes him down. If he hadn't, the credit card bill collectors surely would have. Oh, and a bear fell on a guy. That, my friend is the economic crisis in a nutshell. Have a nice day!
