Mrs. Reagan will also attend the unveiling of a new statute of President Reagan Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Capitol Rotunda. After the unveiling, the former first lady will share a private White House lunch with Michelle Obama.

Ronald Reagan would have thought Bush, Cheney, Rove etc are a big joke.

    Palin especially.

Who cares?? He's DEAD, and the wifey has no significance, (never did, never will) to our country. He did great things, while all the time senile....that's why we voted for the Bushies....logic dictated that senility was a good characteristic for our presidents to have. I sure hope Obama doesn't waste one second of his time entertaining the old hag!

Poor Nancy, that's a scary looking woman you're going to be having lunch with.
Actually, it shouldn't be all that bad for Mrs. Reagan. This administration hired a make-up artist to tone down that mean (mean....not my word, the word of the liberal media) look that Mrs. Obama has at the cost of $100,000.00 per year which the taxpayers pay for. This is the First Lady that has ever done this, so this is one thing that Mrs. Reagan and Mrs. Obama won't have in common. Yep, all this "change" is costing the taxpayer a lot of money.

    To: republican scum scum

A quote by the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody, anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any Nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

In other words, GET A JOB and quit living off the working Republicans. Republicans have money because we are CONSERVATIVE. Democrats like to spend other peoples money. LIBERAL = spend, spend, spend and live off government programs which are funded by the working Republicans.

@ Indiana voter.......... Yes, Reagan did win RE-election with 49 of the 50 states. I voted for him.

However......... let's not forget the 19% interests, the "Twin Recessions of 1981 & 1982" and......the Crash of 1987.

Oh........ and Iran/Contra scandal. Reagan sold arms to Iran, of all places!

Not all was rosy during St. Reagan's two terms in Office!

Geez, its kinda sad to read people leaving comments degrading the former first lady, or the current one. Its even more pathetic to attribute party lines to a simple lunch between two nice ladies. Its also mind boggling that we have people on here who are quick to criticize Pres. Obama when he's only been in office for less than 5 months. I say this, if we lived through the 8 years of Bush/cheney regime, I am sure we can grant Pres. Obama (which the majority of the country voted for) some time to judge him fairly. Until then lets try to show some Unity Rep and Dem alike.

I use to have a singlarly negative view of the Reagan years, for good reason. Since then, I have learned from Democratic political analysts that President Reagan did more for nuclear arms control than any other president. Given that alone (and I am not in a position to question the analysis) I now accept his administration as having be positive for America. Debt, business policies, Iran-Contra, etc. I now chaulk up to the price we paid for moving our world a bit further away from nuclear destruction.

Check your facts people. Reagan screwed up the economy. That trickle down economics and cutting taxes philosophy never worked. Even George H.W. Bush called it voodoo economics. Bush Sr. had to raise taxes (Reagan did too BTW) to fix things and so did Clinton. Then we had shrub come in and try to do the same stupid stuff with the economy that Reagan did. And we all know how that turned out.....

There are some truely vile people on this board today. I feel sorry for you people with all the hate that consumes you. Maybe you should think before you speak or you will be the one's to burn. CNN you better print this. I cannot believe you allow such garbage on your website, calling for the death and burning of people while moderating calm, rational points of view.

CNN, please don't let left/right wing nuts drop hateful rhetoric on your blogs....
We need to all study history, not listen to commentators.....
Fact: Ronald Reagan walked into high inflation when he got into office.....Cutting taxes helped this......However he also raised taxes 6 times....

Fact: Obama walked into a Depression which is deflation/implosion.....He had to deficit spend in the short term to replace the ususal consumer spending.....

Fact: FDR couldn't have been the worst President ever, as Americans voted for him for 4 terms straight...he died in office, and was repalced by H. Truman......FDR almost did 16 years in the WH.....So either he was the worst or we're saying Americans were stupid to vote for him....The 22nd Amendment was added to the constitution so that Presidents could only serve 2 terms....to make the executive branch fair & balanced......

People do your homework!!!! Learn about your nation!!!

BTW it was when Reagan came to power that we traded weapons for hostages (with according to right wingers now terrorists, aka Ahmendinajad of Iran, yes he was one of the main culprets of the hostage taking back in 1979)

BTW it was when Reagan took office that all the coorporate scandals began (aka Keating 5) due to regullation

BTW it was Reagan lowering that upper income people tax bracket that trippled the national debt of the US.

    BTW should I keep going?

BTW it was when Reagan was in office that the unions started to break up making it impossible to raise a family on a single income, thus having both parents works, thus having the parents not spend more time with their kids, thus having a whole generation of Americans having lower grade and the academic standards keepgetting lowered to match "expectations." Of course the right wing bigots blamed public schools and teachers, but people are starting to realize where all this started.

    BTW ....

You know, the passage of time really does tend to heal. Lotta negative comments here; and I was certainly not a supporter of Reagan. However, he was not nearly as bad as I thought back then, and he was not nearly as great as some think today. He did like his naptime and his movies. And 'Mommy'.

Such hate in this country. A former first lady cannot even visit the White House without the hate-mongers taking a shot at her. And we wonder why the rest of the world has lost their respect for us. We've become a country of second graders throwing juvenile taunts at each other. What a great democracy we have.
