President issues get out of class pass to 10-year-old
GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (CNN) - How do you get away with skipping classes on your last day of school?
Make sure you get your hands on a presidential pardon.
President Barack Obama held a town hall meeting on Thursday in Green Bay, Wisconsin to discuss his health care agenda - but he also took a little time to write an all-important "get out of school" note.
A young girl named Kennedy attended the town hall with her father, who was called on to ask a question.
Her father, John Corpus, started his query saying he hoped his daughter wouldn't get into trouble for missing the last day of school.
"Do you need me to write a note?" Obama asked.
Clearly assuming that Obama was just kidding, Corpus continued with his question - only to be interrupted by the president.
"No, no, I'm serious. What's your daughter's name?" Obama said, as he started to write a note. "I'm going to write to Kennedy's teacher."
He then walked over to the girl and handed her the note: "To Kennedy’s Teacher, Please excuse Kennedy’s absence…she’s with me. Barack Obama"
No word yet on whether the president's get out of school free card did the trick.

So I'm a dyed-in-the-wool conservative who couldn't ever vote for Mr. Obama–but I think this is pretty funny. Good on you, Mr. President.
But, I somehow wonder what the reaction would be from some liberals if Mr. Bush was the one doing this...
I am sorry that there are those who are "sick" because the President would be nice enough to stop and recognize a ten year old. Perhaps that is the reason your party of "No's&FEAR" only has about 25% calling themselves Republican.
When Nixon came to my town to do a town hall meeting. My mom pulled me out of school to attend. She wanted me to see a president up close in real life, no matter who he is or what party.
I don't care if it was GWB in that hall. If you have an opportunity to visit the president, then you should try to take on that opportunity
there are thousands of problems facing this country but instead of asking our elected leaders the tough questions CNN is taking the easy road and cover all the cute thing Obama has done like drinking water, breathing air and eating food. well gone.

This girl may very well grow up to become President of the United States of America. Showing a citizen attention and compassion for their life issues is a way to give people confidence in their government.

Uh...granted, I'm an atheist, but wouldn't God want to be worshiped everyday?
Does anyone on here even know what the President is doing? Do you realize how much debt we are going to be in soon? What happens when nations such as China, Russia, etc stop buying our debt? We are racking up billions of dollars more in debt every single day and our first thought is to include socialized healthcare? Makes perfectly good sense to me (sarcastic). I am neither republican nor democrat, completely independent but you give this one year and I can promise that you will be wishing there was someone else in office. There can not be democrats or republicans leading this nation, it needs to be bipartisan to complete the checks and balances that are needed. We have an ignorant nation that thinks money can be generated out of thin air (much like the USSR back in the 1980s) and handed out to banks and companies that dug themselves into their own debt. Be a responsible citizen, read the Constitution, read the Bill of Rights, and think to yourself if we as a country are upholding any of the policies we held as the nation we started out as.
