Palin tight-lipped on political future

(CNN) - Sarah Palin told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Friday she's not ready to announce any decision on whether she will seek re-election as governor of Alaska in 2010 or seek the Republcian presidential nomination in 2012.

"I'm not definitely going to do anything yet," said the former Republican vice presidential candidate. "What I'm trying to get done for Alaska right now is to get that Alaska gas line built. We need those energy sources flowing through North America. That's what my focus is."

Pressed if she had made a decision privately about future plans, Palin said "No decision that I'd want to announce today."

In a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released last week, Palin was effectively tied with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as the top pick by Republicans for the party's 2012 presidential nomination.

She certainly isn't tight-lipped about anything else.

...and to all you right-wingnuts out there, we liberals aren't scared of Palin, we're scared of what hell she'll put this country through. If you thought G.W. Bush screwed up, just imagine the major damage this airhead could do...that's what is scary.

PeeWee – The word "that" is so over-used and unnecessary, nine times out of ten, you can take the word out of a written statement and not even notice it's gone. Your grammatical "correction" was not needed.

Annie was correct – the way in which Palin worded her sentence completely changed the meaning and it is concerning to those of us who actually like and support the ideals of what the United States is and can be, that Palin would even be considered as a qualified contender in a presidential election.

She can run, but many wish she'd hide. She's damaged goods.

The interviews with Couric and Gibson showed how unprepared she is, even though she tries to paint them as set-ups by a vengeful media. The questions were valid and objective ("what's the Bush Doctrine?" "what newspapers do you read?") she did the butchering on her own. Plus, her sidestepping questions in the debates (even by politicians' standards) further proved that she couldn't. Too many people don't want someone who only has four years of political cramming in charge.

There's just no way I can believe that conservatives want the White House back so badly that they'd vote for her, though I don't doubt there are many who are uneducated and uninformed enough that will. There are enough educated, reasonable Republicans that won't, leaving quite a gap between what she needs and what she'll get.

Incredible the political advantage this white trah has been able to fabricate out of a simple joke. It is typpical as there is no other real substance coming from her. I think Sarah has been stearing at the russians from ther back yard too long. Not even the other republicans like Gingrich and McCain can stomach her BS anymore. She was good for what McCain used her, it did not work, end of story.

Advisory for Alaskans... Residents should be on the lookout for intercontinental ballistic missles.. Obama recently agreed to allow Comrade Kim Jong to use Alaska as a test site for North Korean nukes.

    @ Tess,

if we take your statement to test...then you Republicans must really fear Obama's high popularity...the only thing you fear more is President Obama succeeding at fixing G.W. Bush's mess....then your precious party won't have a chance in hell in 2012!......THAT is why the republican party is so concerned about bashing President Obama and playing politics INSTEAD of trying to help the ordinary American!

If you need anymore proof, just listen to your leader, Rush Limbaugh when he says he wants President Obama to fail!

Sarah clearly sees the handwriting on the wall in Alaska. She's toast. She could not get re-elected dog catcher after all of her ethics problems and family feud sitcoms. She is trying to calculate her chances of winning on a national level with just the 20% lunatic fringe as her supporters. If she seriously does the math, then she will realize that she is for all times unelectable on both the State and National levels. Her day in the Sun is past.

This diot for president on 2012? Yeah bring her on, we won't have to spend so much on campaigning to win. Our best campaign will be to let her talk a lot without saying anything like she does and to repeat the same stuff over and over (That's her style). Let her spew her radical extremist rethoric and her usual hipocrite talk about the morals and christian life she and her family do not practice themselves. Maybe with more time she can finally explain her abuse of power and misuse of a public office. And above all, the entertainment value, it is great to have a clown like her in the media, I still remember from last time.

Now, I understand my buddy John McCain tight lips on this momma! She is truly over her head and it shows when she's interviewing. She went rogue and we can't seem to rid ourselves of her. Doncha know Sarah you will not be the chosen leader of our Party. Alaska, what was wrong with you guys when you voted this one in. Cute but dumb as a door knob.

And you people thought Palin was stupid. Biden's comments and Obama's lies far outweigh Palin. Enjoy your tax increase for the next three years. Obama lied again.

I doubt seriously she will run. One thing for sure is she is not as idiotic as our current VP and if she did run for President I doubt seriously anyone could run the country worse than Obama. He is competing with Carter for the worst presdent and winning.

  17. You go girl....away!

Poor Palin...she has made this molehill Letterman joke into a mountain. Let' face it: Bristol probably would get it on with A-Rod during the 7th inning stretch. First she gets pregnant with another high school dropout, parades her big tummy around at the Convention after mommy says she believes in abstinence and is against birth control, then becomes a shill for a sexy clothing company with her little bastard baby, and finally mommy has a hissy fit because there is a joke about her sexual habits on late night TV. If Bristol had any sense she would move away from her dysfunctional mother and get away from her twisted influence.......Actually, I feel more sorry for A-Rod...he gets associated with Sarah Palin. Yikes! This brouhaha is perfect- you couldn't make it up. Palin and her wierd antics are great comic relief for the country after 8 years of Cheney and his monkey.

What a joke: "Nearly half the U.S. voters voted for Palin" . What cave did you crawl out of LIP? McCain was the Presidential candidate not Palin. If she was, she would have been lucky to get 20% of the vote.

She is not smart enough to be President. She is a terrible Governor not successful and is as phony as a 3-dollar bill.

Get over the Letterman remarks already. He is a comic and tells jokes, sometimes very funny, sometimes not. Calling him perverted is low class on your part. Didn't your daughter Bristol get pregnant out of wedlock? Yes. Didn't you try to force a shotgun wedding for political convenience? Yes. Does the term knocked up imply rape? No! It could imply consensual sex as well.

Robin: Not all conservatives are considered hatemongers. Just Limbaugh, Hannity, and ultra conservatives wingnuts that kill people for stupid and hateful reasons. Sarah Palin scares me not because I lean Liberal but because she is not qualified to be in Public Office. She quite simply is not smart enough, she does not have any grasp of the issues just sound bites. she is a vindictive and petty person.
Now, if Heather Wilson were running for VP or even President, I would seriously consider voting for her. She is a conservative, yet she is smart, she understands the issue, she understands the art of compromise, she is not a hardliner. She is the type of person that you as a conservative should be pushing to lead your cause not Sarah Palin.

The GOP and the posters that slobber over how 'hot' she is are pretty funny. She can dish out the hate, but can't take it. Too bad, Ms. Sarah.

If she gets nominated because she's 'hot', I'm going to barf...and you guys are whining about Sotomayor being a racist???? And you want this woman to be President? Wow, just wow...

If Palin is the best that the Republicans can come up with than the party is doomed to further failure at the polls. She may be a competent governor but I can't see her going any further. I would never vote for her and it has nothing to do with her party, but with her stand on issues and my belief that she is not competent to do any more than she is right now. She has reached her level of incompetence. I doubt that she could get elected as governor in many other states. I also believe that she only became governor of Alaska because there are so few to choose from up there. Lets face it, the state has a pretty low population level so you don't have a very large pool of people for candidates to come from.

Unfortunately the media keeps her in the news more than she deserves.

Somehow the words "Sarah Palin" and "tight-lipped" just don't seem to go together. This woman spills every dim-witted thought which enters her pea-sized brain.

Well it's Friday and almost the end of the day and I just love to log into CNN News and see what is the talk on the comment pages. Ya know, if I don't care for someone, I simply ignore them. What amazes me how Sarah Palin (who everyone reminds us all that she lost the election) STILL manages to continue to get people all up in a "tizzy" ! I can just see some of you ranting venon, while pounding away at your keyboards. LOL Sorry, but I can't stop laughing. You guys need to take a xanax, chill out and stop complaining about her. If you didn't continue to comment the stories about her, CNN would stop publishing them.

I am thankful she does not look like the typical liberal woman

And I am thankful that Obama is not like the typical conservative male. Fat, beer bellied, ignorant, sexist, arrogant, narrow minded, hateful, inbred and obsolete.
