Palin tight-lipped on political future

(CNN) - Sarah Palin told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Friday she's not ready to announce any decision on whether she will seek re-election as governor of Alaska in 2010 or seek the Republcian presidential nomination in 2012.

"I'm not definitely going to do anything yet," said the former Republican vice presidential candidate. "What I'm trying to get done for Alaska right now is to get that Alaska gas line built. We need those energy sources flowing through North America. That's what my focus is."

Pressed if she had made a decision privately about future plans, Palin said "No decision that I'd want to announce today."

In a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released last week, Palin was effectively tied with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as the top pick by Republicans for the party's 2012 presidential nomination.

She is an excellent governor. You see rampant haters ever time her name is mentioned so she must scare them. Obama is already setting up to be on par with that miserable president Carter so she sure could not do any worse. Looks like a carbon copy of Carter – rising rates, low Dow, high oil, high unemployment, run away debt, and lets suck up to you foriegn policy. He had potential.

Would Sarah help herself if she quit focusing on Letterman and actually focused on her job as governor in Alaska? You betchya.

I say let her run. In 2008 McCain was the Titanic and Palin was the iceberg. The Republicans in office cannot control her as she's gone rogue on them and without their support it's unlikely she will even win a primary.

There is so much more meaningful things going on in our nation and you, CNN, waste three ticker subject lines to Palin.

I'm turning you off for good.

Please do us all a favor and go away. you are boring, haven't an original thought in your head, and just about the worst example of a smart woman I can think of.

To all of you Palin haters out there: just wait until she is elected in the 2012 presidential election. I can't wait to see you screaming, squirming, tearing your hair out, and going wildly berserk. You guys deserve it, for all of your trashing of her and her family!!!! 🙂

Robin, june 12th, 2009 12:13 pm ET: "Why are we conservatives called the hatemongers? I just don't get it."
listen to rush, savage, hannity, michael steele, & all local republican chairpersons & then give me a call.
as for palin, this woman is hilarious. she gets bent out of shape over a late night joke. not sure if conservative remember the 2009 campaign but their were songs about barack being "a magic negro" & gag dollars with him eating watermelons; way to not only attack him but an entire race of people. i shudder to think of what she would do if some middle-east psychopath or north-asian dictator called her names, with her manicured index finger on the red button.
the republican party is in shambles & they keep thinking its going to get better with her as the face of the party? ask my fiance's dad, a lifelong regan republican, what he thinks of the republican party right now – you'll hear a groan followed by silence.

"This insinuation that it's ok, that it's acceptable to talk like that and then that it's acceptable for the media to not provide the American public, the listeners, the readers the full context of that joke," she said, adding that it's also a "sad commentary on what Americans are fed in terms of full news."

Somebody please tell did this lady really went to college? How many of the word "THAT" appears in her statement? And she wanted to be the VP of this country. Oh what has become of the GPO's that they don't even have a single person who can lead them, how can they lead this nation.

It's not that we're scared of her per se. We're more frightened of what this country would be like with such an, how shall I put this politely, intellectually challenged person at the helm. Have a nice day!

Democrats all over the county are hoping against hope that Palin runs in 2012. Obama could start his victory lap the minute she got the nomination.

That, in itself, tells you what is going to happen. It wont be the left that puts Palin out of her misery. It will be her co-religionists on the right that do her in.

They've now lost two in a row and that seems to have helped them overcome their long-standing assumption that they are entitled to govern because they are the chosen ones.

They wont go down for the third time without more of a fight than Sarah of the Blank Stare can put up.

Hey, maybe he couldn't be trusted because Willow's had enough of this type of comments and maybe Willow would want to react to him in a way that maybe would catch him off guard. That's one way to interpret such a comment."
What is she saying here? That Willow would clock him from behind? What does she mean?

I guess that's what a communications degree from U of Idaho does for you... No one knows what she's talking about.

    My Vote For President, NEVER!

If she is seriously considering running for president she better develope some tougher skin....because if she thinks Letterman was out of line she hasn't seen or heard anything yet!!!!!! It will get much worse. Personally, I would never consider voting for her and I'm a woman.

Here is my prediction: Sarah Palin will grudgingly finish her term as Governor and will then be offered a show on Fox News. As a co-host likely: much as I despise Hannity/Beck etc, these guys can usually form a complete sentence. Not so with Sarah, she'll need someone to prop her up.

Robin you're right. She does scare us. Can you imagine someone that stupid as President of the U. S. ? World leaders would think Americans were complete idiots if she were nominated not to mention elected!

    @Obama victim

you should know a loser when you see one clown if you even think about following this idiot palin, that goes to show your level of mentality.

Palin needs to go home, stay off the televison for a while, LEARN something then maybe by 2013 she will be credible, I said MAYBE, this lady is a complete idiot.

Of course she will run. She started campaigning before McCain lost. She has never met a camera she doesn't like. Alaska should consider her gone because she is useless to them now. And Sarah needs to remember that once you are in the lime light, you becaome a source of humor for every comedian out there. She wants to be the center of attention so she needs to get used to it. ..and please GOP, nominate here to run..it will be so entertaining...!

Sarah Palin is an idiot. Period. She continues to run a race lost 8 months ago. David Letterman is a comedian who makes jokes for a living. Sarah and Todd need to get over themselves and be happy for the 15 minutes of fame they were given. Any attempt by the Republican party to extend this fame will ensure the Democrats stay in power for a very, very long time.

This woman is such a light weight - she was handled with KID GLOVES by the press and now continues to badmouth MEAN Katie for asking her what - what books do you read??? Imagine the HOOPLA the press would have made if one of the Obama girls were (old enough to be) pregnant out of wedlock!!! Good grief. She is having trouble with money in Alaska when they take in all that income from Oil and gas? Amazing!!
