Biden: Obama has kept his word on consulting vice president

Vice President Biden said Sunday that President Obama has kept up his end of the bargain the two men made about working together in the White House.

Vice President Biden said Sunday that President Obama has kept up his end of the bargain the two men made about working together in the White House.

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden said Sunday that President Barack Obama consults him on all major issues as promised, and that the job is what he hoped it would be.

"There's not a single decision made that he hasn't asked me my view," Biden said on NBC's "Meet the Press" program.

Biden has said he accepted the chance to be vice president on condition that he would be an important consultant and confidante to Obama.

"He's kept his end of the bargain," Biden said of Obama, describing himself as "one of the last people who has the opportunity to make my case to him."

"I think he respects my opinion," the vice president said.

Biden cited a tangible benefit of his role, saying: "I used to react to nominees to the Supreme Court; now I got to help select a Supreme Court nominee," in reference to Obama's nomination of U.S. Appellate Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the high court.

" Two heads are better than One". I am glad that the role of VP is being used properly and not having a rogue VP is definitely a plus.

Obama and Biden are predictable. They do things that make common sense.

Good to hear that our President seeks additional counsel before making large decisions.

To the Bush/Cheney bashers, please stop. They are gone and you need to let your anger and hatred go of them. They are the past. This is the now. Focus.

I didn't vote for Biden in the primaries because he's a loon. Obama asking him to be his running mate was his single worst decision to me. Biden is a joke. Why some Democrats continue to support him is beyond me.

Patience is a virtue. Read my lips: We didn't put our country in the hole its in. We do have a plan to get us out which includes investing in our country via Health Care, Education, and Energy which are key areas that need reforming and in the long run will be beneficial to all of us whether you believe it or not.

At last, we have a president who is a strong capable leader and is not afraid to consult with his equally strong capable vice president. They give us that are struggling financially hope that things will get better eventually.

Presiedent Obama continues to 'break the old presidential mold' with proactive actions such as this. It's not about ego–it'a about surrounding your self with the smartest and brightest people available to make well-informed decisions.
Joe Biden has a brilliant political mind and valuable experience in Washington politics–a valuable asset to the President and this country in a most critical time.

Just saying it – any of it - doesn't make it so. It's going to take a lot more than hateful blogging and random labeling to dislodge this administration if it is (gasp!) successful in its efforts to heal the country and put it on the right path. The right wing needs to let a little light and air into its echo chamber (around which uninformed terms like "socialist" bounce with abandon) if it wants to have any hope of being relevant again.

Biden always puts his foot in his mouth. I really would cherish his opinion. Yikes.

I read these postings and see some thoughtful input and that is good, but then I see those that only call names and issue hate that is swad. If you do not agree with a person or a policy explain what you think should or could be done that is better. If the only problem is that you are white and Obama is black you have ony proven you are the problem.

Biden is a buffoon! If Obama respects his opinion, then he's the only one. Biden is the worst VP since Dan Quayle.

Harley – I'll take a so called 'socialist' (if that's what you want to lie and call it) state over the dictatorship we had for the last 8 years any day. You repubs don't even know what real socialism is or you wouldn't even say that, you just get your talking points from lush limpaugh, hannity and beck. How sad.

Certainly hope that in about 8 years, Biden will be President. At the present, we have a "super team", Obama and Biden!!!! But no matter how "super" a person might be, the mess left by Bush and his crime family will take a long time to "clean up"

Harley, take a deep breath. The term SOCIALIST is so over played. When Palin ask for money from the government to build a pipeline in Alaska isn't that socialism . It looks as though the repugs only cry socialism on selected issue. Medicaid , medicare, and social security = SOCIALISM! Research your talking points before labeling.

Doesn't say much for Obama's judgement that he selected Biden as a running mate, and says even less if he actually listens to what he says.

Some of these comments keep it a proven fact there are a lot of ignorant people responding to these articles. The comments about support for BO and his 'greatness' are so far off base . . . of course, Biden is the one thing that does help BO look better . . . and BO needs all the help he can get.

It is only a handful of screwballs who keep blogging under different names. They want to make people think that there are a lot of them out there. They are racists, Limbaugh freaks and just plain nuts. I doubt that most of them ever even pay taxes. Their whole world revolves around trying to scare people and make themselves sound important. Some people are just too stupid to even own computers.
