Sonia Sotomayor has withdrew from the Belizean Grove women's club.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — U.S. Supreme Court justice nominee Sonia Sotomayor has quit her membership in a women’s club.

The 54-year-old Latina jurist announced her decision to withdraw from the Belizean Grove, effective Friday, in a letter to Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Sen. Jeff Sessions, the committee’s ranking member.

“I believe that the Belizean Grove does not practice invidious discrimination and my membership did not violate the Judicial Code of Ethics, but I do not want questions about this to distract anyone from my qualifications and record,” she wrote.

    "Sotomayor quits all-woman's club"...................

This is one of many examples that Sotomayor does not have the courage of her conviction.

Sotomayor never should have caved in to the GOP. They would not ask a member of The Promise Keepers to resign their membership and that's an all male club. If Democrats can't stand up to the republican, then they don't deserve to lead.

How many of these men are members of all men clubs? Oh, come on.... Freemasons... just to mention one! I'm sure we can all think of many many more!

Oh hey now! Don't stop being a bigot on our account!

Please feel free to carry on as you were.

I hope your rich experiences as a wise Latina woman give you solace when the Senate rejects you.

She'll still be able to visit as a guest of various members, won't she? I wouldn't vote for her.

Hmmm.....if she believed in the what the club stands for she should have stayed in the club.

This only makes her look bad.

Oh, well. I'm sure that the right-wingers will quickly find another phony issue.

This is an outrage. It's really time to hit the streets in the U.S. Every republican president since 1923 has been a member of the exclusive, all-male Bohemian Club located in California. Do your homework and, like others have said, time to VOTE in this country. Maybe it's time for some recall elections. Bigotry, ignorance, incompetence and malfeasance that runs high in our elected officials can be stopped. Just VOTE.

I bet nobody is checking to see how many judges are members of all-male, all-White clubs or organizations.
