Jenny Sanford: 'His career is not a concern of mine'
(CNN) - Jenny Sanford said Thursday that her husband Mark Sanford's political career is "not a concern of mine" and that she'd be just fine - whether or not their marriage survived.
She would not speculate whether her husband would resign as South Carolina governor.
"His career is not a concern of mine," she told reporters as she departed the family's vacation home in Sullivans Island, South Carolina. "He's going to have to worry about that. I'm worried about my family and the character of my children."
She added that she would be just fine, with or without her husband.
"I have great faith and great friends and great family. We have a good Lord in this world and I know that I'm going to be fine and not only will I survive, I'll thrive," she said. "I don't know if he'll be with me, but I'm going to do my best to work on my marriage because I believe in marriage. I believe in raising good kids is the most important thing in the world."
She would not reveal whether she was headed back to the family's home in Columbia. "Right now we're taking it a day at a time. Right now we're going out on a boat."
Gov. Sanford, leaving the family home in a different car, was in a far less talkative mood. "I'm going back to Columbia," he said.

I believe that Jenny Sanford is a good person and I believe that she will survive. She nor her children asked for this, neither do they deserve what her husband inflicted on her and her boys.
Jenny is playing it smart, who knows she may even run for a polical office in the years to come. As for her husband, he is just doing what the majority of people are doing, even if it is wrong. Maybe that is why he didn't care about gettting any help from the president for his fair state of SC They do like to keep their people down especially the blacks/

Education budget cuts with a ranking of 49th in the nation on SAT scores; refusal of the economic stimulus with state employee layoffs, furloughs, and hiring freezes; elbow-rubbing with "drill baby drill" eco-terrorist Sarah Palin; suspicious hiring practices with coke-snorting treasurers; you name it – it's been there. Wait a minute...this is contradictory. She wants the marriage to work but his career isn't a concern of hers? A marriage won't work that way at all. What a message to send kids. It's ok to have affairs after there's kids and loveless marriage is ok????? Not a role model at all.

Governor Sanford should run for President in 2012: No one can come close to his proven expertise in foreign affairs.
Just saw a video of the very dear friend on Fox.com........he got the short end of this deal. He should have stayed home with his wife, a woman of strength, morals and character. Oh well not thinking with his brain.
Good for her not worrying about his career. He built his career with her help and she has more than done her part. I respect this woman because this is something that happens often to women and their children, it happened to me.

Mrs. Sanford, if what you say now is true, you should have gotten rid of him months ago when you found out. You waiting to say this even longer than he waited to fake apologize isn't very convincing.
Btw, this supposed paragon of Conservative values, Gov Sanford, used state money for trips to see his mistress? He should repay the money to South Carolina and, if he has any of those principles that he talks so much about, RESIGN. Didn’t he refuse stimulus money for South Carolina on his FAKE principles?

OMG she's my hero! She seems to be a strong woman and her concern is in the right place, with her children and her dignity.
My heart just goes out to her and her family, My problem with her will be if she starts to talk down her husband. yes he messed up but she should not let the media influence her my guess will be she been knew about this but as soon as the news started to leak she acted differently towards him. He need to take some time and decide what he really want because he probably wont give the other woman up so i feel he need to resign or be suspended.

Mrs. Sanford is having a difficult time, it's never easy, seems that she focus on the imediate needs of her boys. But the most impotant thing on a marriage is the marriage.
If the marriage is OK the kids will be.
