Details of Sanford book deal to come this week

COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) - Prior to revelations of an extramarital affair that effectively brought an end to his political career, Mark Sanford was preparing to publish a book outlining his policy beliefs, his publisher told CNN Wednesday.
Sentinel, a conservative imprint of Penguin Group, has included a book by Sanford entitled "Within Our Means" in their Spring 2010 catalogue, the proofs of which have already been sent to the printers. It was described by the publisher as "a manifesto about fiscal conservatism - why the government needs to spend less and fix the deficit ASAP."
That was before Sanford's life changed forever. Sentinel associate publisher Will Weisser told CNN Wednesday that the company will "most likely" make an announcement about the book's fate later this week.
Weisser would not elaborate on whether that meant Sanford would write a new book about the scandal, or if it simply meant the book deal has been scrapped altogether.
"We'll announce a decision about what's going to happen about the book," he said. "So it could be anything."
Sanford's office had no comment.

Jokes aside, I would be interested to hear his economic policies... like, how DOES one actually crawl out of the red? I mean, South Carolinians are already paying income tax, sales tax, luxury tax, property tax, and other usage-based taxes, like car taxes; there is a tourism tax... yet SC is still broke. How does one turn a huge deficit and 12% unemployment into black ink? Inquiring minds want to know! SC has been in the hole a long time, long before the stimulus money fiasco. The man only has 18 months left in his term and he still hasn't really solved any fiscal problems. Maybe he thought he would hit the Powerball Lottery.
He left his job for 5 days without telling anybody were he was going, if I pulled that stunt I'd be in the unemployment line, hypocrite.
Who cares if he writes a book, only a moron with no morals would read it.

A better title might be:

A more accurate manifesto of so-called "fiscal conservatism"

Good title would be: " Don't Ask, Don't Tell "
So, he says it is a private matter between he and his wife, . . . and whoever else wants to pay to read the rag!
All his conservative cronies can buy his book to contribute to his cause and not have to worry about political contribution limitations. He's going to need all his can scrape together after his wife and children take him to the cleaners as they should.
He seems to have a problem with telling the truth lately so is this book going to be found in the fiction section? Or will it tell us how see the world and screw the South Carolina tax payers? That one might be found in the travel section of your favorite book store.
Republicans like to talk about fiscal restraint. Too bad they never practice it.

This is getting weird CNN. Stop the nonsense now. No one cares about Mark Sanford and his stupid book deal, that in my opinion he's already promoting. He's not going to ever be president, or even hold a government office again, so who cares?
It floors me how people who don’t like the government and has such disdain for the people, are the first in line to lead the government. And then, they run it in the ground. Let me spell it out for you. ANYONE who breaks the law and or government rules should NOT have an office. Send Sanford home, or back to Argentina for all I care. This time, make sure it’s on his own dime.
And he can forget about me EVER giving him a red cent for that rag of a book he's writing. He should be writing his apologies to his wife and four kids, and then step away from the cameras.

There are so many real writers waiting for a break to publish original and intelligent work...may be its time publishers are less greedy and more intelligent in deciding how and who they offer book deals to. Well, at the end of the day..money rules!!! And on my part, I will not shell out a single dime on insignificant stories people have to share.
