GOP source: Palin decided it was 'time to move on'
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced Friday she would not seek a second term and would soon step down as governor.
A Republican source close to her political team told CNN that it was a “calculation” she made that “it was time to move on.” The governor’s “book deal and other issues” was “causing a lot of friction up” in her home state, the source said, adding that he believes that she is “mapping out a path to 2012.”
Finally a good laugh...after the gloom of so many death this month we can finally put them to rest and sit back and watch Sarah Palin become our comedian. Saturday nite live every hour...I need a few laughs...she is such a fool.

How is walking out on your constituency in the middle of your term (after having sorely neglected them for three months last year) showing the kind of leadership that's required to be a head of state?

You got a guy in the WH, did the same thing. Nobody thought about Obama walking out on his term as senator.
What kind of leadership did that show on his part?
Also even with just part of term completed, she already has accomplished more than Obama.
You bots better pray he leaves this country in as good as condition as she is leaving Alaska.
Good News! I hope that now Alaska wll not shoot any more wolves from planes (like Palin had approved).
CNN – ok, your slanted news coverage is about all I can take. I just was watching the announcement by Sarah Palin on TV. You dropped the voice so your Candi Crowly and company- and the rest of your "spinners" –can prevent us from hearing what she has to say! Good bye CNN.....you've been giving me daily reasons that pas to weeks to pull the plug on you....I'm done.....
I for one hope that she runs. That would guarantee a win for Obama in the next election were she to become the republicrats nominee. I seriously doubt that many folks would vote for her given the fact that she quit the governors job and being President is certainly much more demanding than being the governor of Alaska. This circus kind of reminds one of the Minnesota / Jessie Ventura fiasco or the more recent Al Franken horror story. Is it something about the places where it gets really cold?

She has a little cash in her pocket from her book deal and has turned her back on the people of Alaska to reach for higher goals. She is so transparent in her selfishness.
Alaska must be breathing a collective sigh of relief, but unless there is a family emergency, isn't this a breach of the public trust? Who would trust her again? What will she quit next? This story is not over...
will she be allowed to run after walking away from her post? I certainly would not vote for her, because this is selfishness in it's finest form, and that's not a characteristic that I'd want from my leader. I think the woman might have hit her head, while shooting up in the heli-copter.
Her timing is related to the Sanford fiasco. She is striking while the iron is hot. She sees an opening now that he has messed up so badly. Problem is, she doesn't realize how badly she has messed up over and over again. Any legitimate feedback is immediately label "left wing media" by her – Sarah, listen to some of the feedback! You would think that such an important announcement would have been polished and well thought out. It was her usual rambling, incomprehensible, "what the heck is she saying" nonsense. Sarah, I have given you chance after chance, but you really blew it this time.

President Obama resigned effective November 16 2008; with the holiday breask, that means he missed just a little more than a month of his term in the Senate.
Governor Palin is quitting a year and a half early.
That's nice, but you don't "move on" in the middle of your term. Finish the job you were hired to do by Alaskan taxpayers and then move on! This just shows that she's can't handle the pressure or the political arena.
Matt you are a fool! How can you say Palin is not a quitter when she just QUIT. I believe that says it all. She was not even able to complete one term. There is no there word than quitter!
I wish Uhbama would quit.
Can you blame her? Who in their right mind would want to deal with budget and revenue issues after they made $7 million from a book deal? It's time to travel and enjoy life. Let the people of Alaska deal with their problems.
