WASHINGTON (CNN) - While a boy wizard might have dominated the conversation on Twitter today, Washington was all abuzz about Sonia Sotomayor. The hearings were monotonous at times, funny at others, and interesting now and again - but only those following Twitter really got the inside scoop from people on the inside. Literally (and we hear the temperature was very cold). A select few spent the day typing away on their computers and snapping photos from their Blackberrys.

Two of CNN's producers were in the Hart Senate Building constantly updating their followers on Twitter. And if you were not following @hambypCNN throughout the day a. start now (he will be tweeting all week) and b. we compiled a few highlights of his tweets from today to give you a glimpse behind the scenes:

(Read his tweets after the jump)

#Sotomayor: "I'm not an expert in growing marijuana," but "apparently" you need special lamps to do soHmm.

Max Baucus, a Dem who is not on the judiciary committee, just walked into the hearing room, whispered to Grassley, and they both left

Check out the photogs swarming Franken:  http://twitpic.com/agfin (yes, @evanmglass has a real camera, i only have my cell phone)

Coburn moves on from abortion, brings up Maloney vs. Rice case again. More nunchukka action today?

Hart Senate building takes a power hit. Lights dim. A/C dies. Leahy tells #Sotomayor: "You can continue. That was not a comment from above."

Press gallery keeps cracking up at Franken even though he's not saying anything particularly funny http://twitpic.com/agcv5

Here's the view from the CNN booth above the hearing room: : http://twitpic.com/ag7d2

The New Haven firefighters posed for a photo-op during the intermission, but would not take question: http://twitpic.com/afyb9

During the break, Sessions told reporters that #Sotomayor's testimony has been "muddled, confusing, backtracking on issue after issue"

CNN Capitol Hill producer @evanmglass snapped this nifty wide-shot of the hearing room during Cornyn questioning http://twitpic.com/afki8

Soto-show Day 3 about to kick off at 9:30am EST. Biden's chief-of-staff Ron Klain is here. No senators in the house yet.

CNN Capitol Hill Producer Evan Glass also tweeted from @evanmglass:

Day 3 of Sotomayor hrng. Its still so cold in here that Fox's Carl Cameron even brought a Snuggie to keep him warm. Brrrrr.

Earlier there was a power surge, now the microphones aren't working at the Sotomayor hrng. Who's paying the Senate's electric bills?

I love it when republifreaks use "Bush had economic growth at the beginning of his term so it is not his fault argument."

And state it as though thie is PROOF that conservatism works.

    What you didn't have enough?
You think you are the one that's right?

Here is a little game I like to play called find the crazy guy:

If you think the whole world is wrong and you are right...

When does (CNN) have time to report the (real) news, twitting all the time, oh i know ,you got that nonsense from (RICK SANCHEZ) he is a (tweet machine) CNN when your network come to reality, am very serious and not trying to be funny. The country is very much in tune about what is going on in (POLITICS).since the President ran for office and more when he took power.. The (majority) of americans are very (AWARE) of what is (BULL) and is (FACT). It is not just certain races of people that are watching the hearings, it is the (AMERICAN) people. Twitter is is fine tool for communicating with the masses, but it does not determine the outcome ,of where important (choices) are made. (CNN) dont get carry away ,on a tool that is for entertainment, we are in a historic hearing for the (Supreme Court) and lets not taint its true meaning, with this Twitter (nonsense).

The healthcare bill on the table will destroy small business. Those in favor have never owned a small business I'm sure. But given that the President is tyring to hurriedly jam this down our throats I was wondering–

Has anyone proposed paying for the monstrosity with a NATIONAL SALES TAX. That way everyone contributes and the rich pay more.

I sometimes quietly wonder how in the world do we keep going on. there are so many theatrics in politics and so much arm chair politicians chatter saying so many inaccurate and incendiary statements. you start to believe you are living in a cartoon – from the far side!!!
