Palin steps down as Alaska governor
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (CNN) - Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin gave her final speech as Alaska's governor Sunday before stepping down from her post, telling a Fairbanks crowd that she is resigning "to chart a new course to advance the state."
"Now people who know me, they know how much I love this state ... I feel it is my duty to avoid the unproductive, typical, politics-as-usual, lame-duck session in one's last year in office," Palin said, just moments before Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell was sworn in as governor.
"With this decision, now I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right and for the truth," Palin continued. "And I have never felt you need a title to do that."
Palin announced in early July that she would step down this month. She has attributed the decision to tremendous pressure, time and the financial burden of a litany of ethics complaints in the past several months.
The complaints were without merit and took away from the job she wanted to do for Alaskans, Palin has said.

How petty can the critics of a good and fine woman be. She has done nothing to African Americans or the Democrats but they blashpeme her. I was (NOTE I SAID WAS A DEMEOCRAT BUT NEVER AGAIN) even though I am a Hillary supporter I will never Democrat again. By putting an unqualified man such as OBAMA in office shows I have been following the wrong party. I am a 28 Year Retiree of the US Army. To even think of cuttting our security by 25% would take a moron. Race has nothing to do here. If this man meets these qualifications then he is a stupid moron. We in the military knew what a nemis Iraq was to the security of the U.S. States just like Iran, Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Libiya, Pakistan, and Palestine not to say Korea. It is time to wake up American I am not talking party here but the Democrats can not handle the diplema the world is in now. We need a new government for the people.

They like her because she brags about being a "real American" – which to the fringe is code for white. Kinda funny since her husband is a member of a secessionist party- but they are white – so all is forgiven – stupidity, pre-marital sex resulting in bastard kids, lack of intelligence or any intellectual curiosity.
Nope – what's important is her conservative values (i.e. premarital sex, letting the baby father live with her daughter, etc..), and Traditional views – it's all code for we like the dumb, pretty white girl better than that Harvard educated uppity n-word POTUS
Regardless of the fairy tales some Republicans believe about Palin, the fact that she resigned before even completing a single term of governor of a lightly populated state pretty much disqualifies her from state or national office in the future.
She is a prime example of the Peter Principle in action.
Thumbs up to you Gov. Palin and the best of luck to you. You see what this administration is doing to this county. Please step up to the plate and do what needs to be done. Clean up the House and get some good honest people in there that love this country as much as you, I, and millions of other Americans do. Clean up the place!!!!!!!!!
You go, Sarah!!. I trusted you in 2008 as a vp prisendal candidate and I trust you now. The public does not have to know all the motives for what you do so you just go right ahead and make your plans. I am behind you 100%. You are a smart gogetter and that is what we need. We will begin to see the rise of Sarah Palin as America's next president and the greatest President of ALL TIMES! Palin is the TRUE MESSIAH and SAVIOR of this country and the whole world. She is the REAL bringer of Change and Reform that this country truly needs. We need Sarah Palin as President for she will put all male presidents to shame. Palin will begin the long and unbroken line of conservative white women presidents. Men, minorities and liberals will never be president or vice-president after Palin. Only conservative white women.

She is an embarrassment in how she represents America; someone who doesn't know basic geography, and thinks we don't have environmental problems, and believes only Christians know the way to God. This shows how ignorant she is and disrespectful of the rest of the world. I was a Republican till Palin made me so ashamed to admit. it. I would be embarrassed to an Alaskan too. May God have mercy on us all!
