Palin gives 'stirring' gun rights speech at NRA dinner, says group

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/07/06/art.palinclap0706.gi.jpg caption=" Palin's fans have been clamoring for her to re-launch her Twitter feed."](CNN) - She’s gone Twitter-silent since leaving office last week – but former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has spoken out publicly for the first time since her resignation, according to the nation’s largest gun rights group.

Palin addressed a National Rifle Association dinner in Anchorage Saturday, the group reported on its blog. The NRA did not reveal the content of her remarks, but described them as “a stirring speech on 2nd Amendment rights.” Reporters were not invited to observe the event.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate was also given lifetime memberships in several local gun clubs, and the NRA’s Gold Medal Award of Merit for the Promotion of Gun Collecting.

Palin has not yet given a media interview since leaving officen and has yet to re-launch her Twitter feed after leaving her goubernatorial account behind. Last week, her spokeswoman said that she had never committed to, and would not be attending, a GOP event at the Reagan library at which organizers had expected her to appear.

Sarah's Twitter activities proves ONCE AGAIN that she has the attention span of a flea.

That's right Sarah – run for President. But make sure that you have a great VP 'cause when you get tired of that job and quit again....

The liberal left don't like her because she really appeals to the lowest common denominator. You know, the people who think that Olive Garden is Italian food, think that Lady Gaga is musically talented, think that watching reality TV is a worthwhile use of time. No class. No taste. Have a nice day!

NRA would be a good job for her, go for it. About the only job you are qualified for.

Funny, how the press could not be a part of this event when Sarah Palin talked about how they have so much freedom because of our troops fighting for them. This woman is not fit to lead anything. I am sure the NRA loves her shooting animals and acting like a fool with guns.

She gave a speech that neither she nor the group wanted covered. So let's not cover it. Let's ignore her to death in the great old American tradition. She is not a disciplined, serious person, she is not a leader, she has no record, she was a gimmick used by McCain to try to draw angry Hillary voters and nothing else. Any respect given to her is putting lipstick on a pig. There are serious Republican women leaders – Olympia Snow for example – Sarah Palin is a dangerous joke.

No speech posts...no reporters allowed...only 'stirring' comments made by attendees

Why the secrecy if it was 'so great'????

All you out in idiot land, Obama is a lousy President. Sarah Palin is a true American, true Republican and a true conservative. She would be a great President, she would be the President for the People not for the Politicians.

The scariest person in America has a "stirring speech". I wonder if they meant to say "screeching speech" ? I am thankful that there was no media or audio, she is a non factor in politics and is only the Paris Hilton of American. If she ever got into the Whithouse it would no doubt speel the end of America ! Every other country in the world would cease their relationship with the US !

Do you think the gun and ammo manufacturers have anything to do with the NRA?How about the Corporate Fascists?I think they are more about the money than they are about our second amendment rights. When it comes time for the Corporate Fascists to roundup these guns they have the data banks to find them.
