CNN Poll: Obama receives a C+

WASHINGTON (CNN) - A new national poll indicates that Americans think Barack Obama's performance as president deserves a grade of C +.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, released Thursday as the president approaches 200 days in the White House, asked respondents to use a grading scale of A, B, C, D, and F, where A is excellent and F is very poor.

Twenty-two percent of those questioned gave Obama an A, 32 percent a B, 20 percent a C, 14 percent a D and 14 percent an F. The president's grade averaged out to a C+.

The president received a grade of B minus in a CNN poll taken earlier this year as he approached 100 days in office.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll was conducted July 31-August 3, with 1,136 adult Americans questioned by telephone. The survey's sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

It must have been the RNC organizing an angry mob and misinformation against him. Anyone who gave him less than an a is a racist and acting "stupidly". First, its too bad that the best two candidates that the U.S. could field was Obama and McCain. Its also too bad he has already put this country so far in debt in just 200 days.

Keep in mind that his public option for health care would be a government run company like medicare, medicaid, social security and the US Post Office. All are headed to bankruptcy, loaded with bureaucracy, completely inefficient, and poor customer service. And that is better than the current system. You have a CHOICE!

Really stupid. Anybody who voted for McCain is probably still bitter, and thus gave him an F, knowing CNN wasn't wise enough to weight or analyze the results of a RAW POLL they did on their WEBSITE. Foolish. This isn't news. CNN, you're supposed to be journalists, not fools.

What is wrong with folks. This president has accomplished more in 200 days than many do in two terms. Most people I talk to are really just ignorant of the facts. They pass around e-mails and/or blogs that are not founded in any kind of fact. They are "emotional" reactions that are not grounded in reality. If people would really listen to the speeches - not just 2-minute clips - read factual material and use their head instead of their mouth, I think they would find it hard to deny the effectiveness and motivation of Obama.

Remember, we wanted Change. Now we are finally getting some. Let's not sabotage the process with our own ignorance.

Why did you choose biased headlines in your reporting of statistics ?!You chose to be negative by saying Obama had a c+ rating as opposed to saying that 52% or more than a majority of those surveyed gave him a B or better grade.
Ask yourself if slanted headlines makes you a news organization or an entertainment netwoork. Are you now becoming another Fox news!!

Notice that even though the time on TV shows 4 minutes left for voting, online voting is not allowed.

Standard CNN liberal crap .... this is why I tell the wife to watch FOX News instead, they are legit.

I totally disagree! President Obama was handed the most difficult task of correcting actions of a reckless administration that preceded him. Wny are some people refusing to give him a chance? It seems the polls and the judging began minutes after he was sworn in. I for one, am willing to give him time to do what he already has set out to do, in his deliberate and intelligent manner. Therefore, I enthusiastically stand by my A+ rating of the president who has given me and my family more hope after eight year of total destruction and disaster. I admire his calm and deliberate ways of meeting opposition and criticism. His refusal to sink to the level of his attackers and detractors.

HA HA HA! Sounds just a tad too high for obama.
Bet his majesty has a Real Temper Tantrum when he hears this news.

But then, C's are probably the highest grade he ever made in school. Could this possibly be the reason his personal records are under lock and key???
And how does anyone know that this jerk is smart???
We Don't Really Know, do we?

Since obama's grade is so low, and so very Average, maybe he needs to pull out ye'old college transcripts and show the world his great grades and scholastic standing.

Afterall, the grades will just go downhill from this point, right in line with the poll numbers that obama obsesses about minute by minute and day by day, and weekly on Wednesday Nights.

Interesting. I invite everyone to do this: Assign a % score to the letter grades (100% for A+, 75% for C, etc) and average out the scores yourself. You do get C or C+. BUT only if you assign an F as 50% or so. But do you think that the 58% in Oklahoma who voted "F" for Obama and Healthcare would agree that he deserves a 50% if they were assigning a percent grade, not a letter grade? No.

I bet if the grading were done with percent scores he'd have an "F" in Oklahoma and a "D" average. The fact is CNN's poll is assigning percentages in the 90s for A, 80s for B, and so forth and then a 50-59 for F, rather than using that letter grade's full scope of 0% to 59%.

Sorry Liberals – the nation is getting over the glam and waking up. Even a C is an important slip.

Is anyone shocked..?? The only shock for me is that he is still somehow at a C+ with all the lying, non-transparent, strong arm politics, and is clearly in far over his head...look around the country and you won't find anyone pedaling backward faster than this president..

How is a drop from a "B-" to a "C+" considered "plummeting?" Honestly, the way CNN is covering the so-called "birther" movement, the Lou Dobbs angle, and these town hall free-for-alls, is pathetic. During the election season, I was always watching CNN, or checking, but you've completely lost credibility. I NEVER watch your network anymore. You've become about as fair and balanced as Fox.

I tried to vote for Florida and the poll would not let me vote.
How can your poll show over 30% F's and still only report a C average ???

He is failing in every area and most so called minorities I have talked to feel insulted by His administrations use of their ignorents. He has miss led everyone from the media to the most common indiviual.

This is the worst time in history for all democrats, He has made Democrats look like fools. His face and speech make you want to shake his hand, then when the results come you feel dirty and deceived.

Gov Crist in florida has done more for state healthcare with out raising taxes.

It's a truly ridiculous assessment. We are in the deepest recession of our lives, unemployment is extremely high, the debt is outragous and we're fighting two wars. And CNN wants people to give the President an "A"??? What are you people thinking. We are hurting and our attitudes reflect our moods. Basic psychology, folks.

The first 200 days set p the next 1,000 days. We pull out of the recession in 2010, create jobs in 2011 and win another term in 2012. That's the way it will probably play out. The RNC is out of ideas. The current stunts are like the Palin stunt -cynical and short lived. Can we please talk about substance and get away from all these instant numbers and grades. They are meaningless!

I wonder if Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy would have been so "luckY' as to be "graded" on their performance???? I'll just bet neither of them would have paid much attention to your "report card"! Both were too busy, just as our new President is, looking out for the interests of the American people! In my opinion, the "report card" stuff is nothing but petty, vindictive, very biased, and has no place in "politics"! nor in newcasting!! Perhaps the MEDIA needs to REGROUP, and consider returning to "honest media newscasting" of the 90's!!!!! Talk about funny - the MEDIA didn't do very well on the "report card" either!! NOW MEDIA BOYS - STUDY HARD, AND BRING THAT D ON YOUR REPORT CARD UP TO AN A. YOU CAME CLOSE TO FLUNKING THE COURSE THIS TIME!!
