WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Connecticut, is "resting comfortably" after undergoing surgery Tuesday to treat prostate cancer, his office announced.
Dodd recently revealed that he had been diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. His doctor described the surgery as "successful," adding that the Connecticut Democrat "is expected to be in the hospital for a few days."
"It is anticipated that he will be able to return to full activity within a few weeks," Dr. Peter Scardino, chairman of the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, said in the statement released by Dodd's office.
Haters in full force. And the GOP is the party of "family values"?
Hardly...
It's a good thing he has that nice private insurance!!
possible thoughts while recuperating ....." hmmmmmmm Gee whiz ! What GREAT MEDICAL INSURANCE coverage this job has. I think I'll stay in here until I retire – at say about ..... hmmmmm 92 or so ! Hmmmmmmmmmm think the voters will go for it? Hmmmmmmmm let me think on this .... how best to get re-elected for the long haul? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? "
Glad Dodd can rest ....
.... if I had a 6-figure cushy government job, gold-plated healthcare plan, and a sweet-heart mortgage deal... I'd be resting comfortably too!
Dodd needs a permanent vacation!
Wish you fast recovery, Senator Dodd!
A very good health care plan I hope this is what congress is going to get for us.
It is good to hear that some have medicazl coverage that really works. NOW IT IS TIME to pass health care reform so all AMREICANS can live a better life.
Now I will hear all the REPUBLICAN DITTO HEADS say that the reform will rudce care adn there will be death squads to kiss the old andx the sick .
ABY PERSON THAT REALLY THINKS THAT IS TRUE needs to get a REAL LIFE and stop listening to all the talk shows.
Or maybed they just need to be sick and learn that their PRIVAT SECTOR insurance company droped them and they paid all these years for NOTHING lkike so many others in this country.
Sen. Dodd will have plenty of time to rest when he's defeated for
re-election by the voters.
Give the guy a break I had prostrate cancer surgery last year at the Cleveland Clinic. It is no little thing to have. Pray you do not get it . Hang in their Senator.
Great news and let this serve as a warning to all men to have their prostate checked, especially those concerned about healthcare.
Did Dodd get the best surgeon like he did illegally on his loan?
Good thing he got that surgery done before we get government rationed hellth care! Oops, forgot that is onlyus astro turf mobsters who have to take government rationed hellth care – corrupt evil politicians don't have to take it.
Now he can get back to his primary role of screwing the American people. Too bad there weren't "complcations" during surgery.
He'll be all rested and relaxated to get another sweetheart deal on a mortgage and then play stupid when accused special treatment.
Great!
Now if someone could just implant a Humility and Truth device in Obama we might get somewhere! 🙂
So they are invited onto CNN, to give their views. But they still try to twist it to their own advantage.
Im sure he has great health care. Wish him well.
How come a board didn't put a value on his life to determin if it was cost efective ?
Give him a pill and send him home .....thats what your leader says
Did he stand in queue for his surgery? They do not think of common man on the street. They can get all the luxuries and now they want us to accept Universal health Plan. Today Barack was in NH telling lies to people. If he had guts he should have kept the town hall meeting open to the public. He borught his own friendly people to show that we can accept his plan. Go away.. Go back to Chicago.
I guess most of us have a quite different definition of "successful" than this doctor...
Get well quick so you can battle!
I know that it is a nice opportunity for neo cons to make a point about the fact that his healthcare was taken care of here in the U.S.A. but I would like to point out that he had insurance, as our senators all do. What if he didn't? Somehow I don't think those complaining about it have that problem to worry about!
I wish I had health insurance like our Public Servants have.
Chris Dodd is the poster child for everything bad about politicians.
We do wish him well – with the assistance of his congressionl insurance.
However, it IS time for him and – I would suggest – most of the congressional incumbants to be voted out.
The general public and the president deserve people who will find real solutions, NOT defend lame political solutions.
