President Obama to debut on BlogTalkRadio

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption= ", a social networking site, will host President Obama on Wednesday."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - On the social networking check list, President Barack Obama has been able to check off Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Now he will add another social network to his list: BlogTalkRadio.

Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET, 40 Minutes for Health Reform, hosted by a coalition of pro-reform faith groups which are multi-denominational, will premiere. For the first 30 minutes, faith-based leaders and a top ranking administration official (all to be officially announced tomorrow) will "share their stories about how our broken health care system has affected the lives of their loved ones and what is at stake in this debate," according to Faith in Public Life spokesperson Kristin Williams. Obama will then talk for the next 10 minutes.

Audience members will be encouraged to call in and listen to the show (but will not be able to speak on air) or can listen live on While the interview is occurring, "listeners will be tweeting it and putting it up on their Facebook pages," BlogTalkRadio Founder and CEO Alan Levy told CNN. "We are really one of the only platforms that can enable a live conversation to take place. A platform that enables Obama to reach large audiences through social tools."

Other political guests who have appeared on BlogTalkRadio include Michelle Obama, John McCain, Oliver Stone, and Yoko Ono. The Pentagon also has a Radio Network on the site.

Once 40 Minutes for Health Reform concludes, the show will be immediately achieved and available to listen to on the site, indexed for Google searches, syndicated and shared on social networks. The Wednesday show is the only one planned, but Williams said they are open to having future events on this platform.

Democrats control Congress, but blame the Republicans when they can't get their things through. Get a tighter grip on reality, people.

And for those who say "If you don't support health reform, then you're anti-American or racist".... I don't care if the president is purple with green and yellow checks or polka dots. I don't care if my president is a man or a woman.
I care about my country. Ergo, I do not want the president to fail. If the president fails, then my country fails. While you can disagree with the president and still be patriotic, you cannot want the president to fail and be patriotic.

We need health care with public option.

Many thanks to Howard Dean and Paul Krugman for their reasonable honest voice on this matter.

I am not a social scientist and I have a hard time figuring out why those that are not insured are the ones against a public plan.

Dr. Howard Dean is very right about health care reform. Without the public plan, there is no reform.

The Healthcare debate in the U.S.A. is becoming almost hysterical and disgraceful. Your Healthcare Reform debate should be honest, accurate and the TRUTH should not be distorted by Lobbyist and Special Interest Groups including the majority of Republican Politicians. The Healthcare System in the U.S.A. is NOT-THE- BEST system in the world. Let us not confuse the high quality of Medical Technology in the U.S.A. with quality of the Healthcare System in the U.S.A.

The W.H.O. places the U.S.A. at 37th (Does #37th = BEST??) and so it would seem that a large # of Republican politicians either cannot read or count or simply enjoy telling untruths, in the hope that some Americans get brainwashed or all, as stated!!

The only people who don't want a public option are the ones who the insurance companies have in their pockets.

Think about.. who really stands to lose if there's a price competitive public option that provides service as good or better than the health insurance companies? The Health Insurance companies are the only ones in danger here...

If the public option sucks.. then people won't stay with it. If it's good, then more people will go to it. Only those who are being paid off by the health insurance industry are panicking.. and turning this into a socialist argument. In reality, Health Insurance in itself is a socialist idea. We all pay every month so that those who need the benefits can use them. If you don't go see a doctor or have nothing wrong with you.. you still pay. The simple idea of insurance is privatized socialism... an oxymoron in itself for those that oppose socialist ideas.

The libs don't get it. Just like they demonized the TEA parties, they are demonizing the people who don't want to see more of the money they work hard for given to those who don't work, won't work and don't pay taxes. We see these people everyday (usually with Obama stickers on their vehicles) and we are tire of it.

HERE read this about health care in Canada people
Dr. Anne Doig, the incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association, said her country’s health care system is “sick” and “imploding,” the Canadian Press reported.

“We know there must be change,” Doig said in a recent interview. “We’re all running flat out, we’re all just trying to stay ahead of the immediate day-to-day demands.”

Canada’s universal health care system is not giving patients optimal care, Doig added. When her colleagues from across the country gather at the CMA conference in Saskatoon Sunday, they will discuss changes that need to be made, she said.

“We all agree the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize,” she said.

A public options would just be another mess like Medicare and Social Security.
Many individuals including my Mom have gotten great service under Medicare.
But Medicare is going broke as is Social Security. The government has messed them up big time. For decades the government has been collecting more in taxes for these programs than was being paid out. The excess should have be put aside for when the baby boomers started to retire, but it was spent instead on other government programs. Now more is being paid out than is comming in and government lacks the political will to fix it. So soon they will have to ration services or raise taxes.
When Medicare plan D was created to cover drugs, the government cut a deal with the big drug lobby to not allow Medicare to negoiate volume discounts on drug prices. Private bussiness can do this to save money but not Medicare because of political deals. Now Obama has cut a deal to continue to not allow Medicare to negoiate volume discounts in exchange for the drug lobby to spend 100s of millions on ads promoting health care reform.
The government is too corrupt and lacks the political will to manage our health care responsibly. They will run it into the ground just like they are doing with Medicare and Social Security. In the end they will ration our health care and most of us will be left with health care that is not as good as we have now.

Oliver Stone, Yoko Ono, and Obama. And he wonders why his ratings are plummeting towards even Democratic congressmen levels.

I am confident Obama would climb in popularity if he simply kept very quiet for several weeks...
