'Tea Party Express' trucks on with tour aimed at health care

WASHINGTON (CNN) - They're angry and not going to take it anymore. And now they are doing something about it – again.

On Friday, the "Tea Party Express" group will travel cross-country on a bus tour starting in Sacramento, California and winding down in Washington, D.C. on September 12.

It's at that point, the group notes, that a three-day march on the nation's capitol will take place to protest the country's rising deficit and fear over taxes being raised.

The tea party movement gained momentum this year as several parties were held across the country this summer to protest President Obama and the Democrats' economic stimulus plans, among other things.

On July 4, nearly 2,000 advocates - toting signs and chanting slogans - rallied outside Congress. Activists said the TEA Party Day - an acronym for "Taxed Enough Already" - was in response to what they called runaway government spending.

But now, the focus is namely on health care reform – a key issue that has created the spark for a bigger, wide-encompassing debate throughout the country and in Congress.

"What brought everything together was the Obama-care idea, which contains every odiferous objection," Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams said Friday. "Is it health care? [Ted] Kennedy care?"

Sure would be nice if some of these radical democrats could be a bit more informed instead of just opinionated. Keep drinking the koolaid all ends in 2010.

The right is grabbing onto the "death panels" like they latched onto the "lipstick on a pig" comment. It's just not true. Even some republicans are admitting there is no language in the bill about "death panels." Oh, and the bill does not give free health care to illegal immigrants. These protesters are irrational people.

Where were these folks when the Bush administration was doubling the national debt:? I also didn't hear any complaining when we were spending billions every month on a pissing contest with Saddam. I agree that we should be controlling spending but at least what's being spent and/or proposed right now is being spent/proposed on things that, for the most part, are to help people.

How come progressives are un-American, un-Patriotic traitors when they protest. But, right -wingers are allowed to do it and think they are doing somebody a favor?

Well, I guess it comes down to another shameless example of conservative hypocrisy.

Byt the way, FOX News sucks. I'd love 5 minutes in a parking lot with Glen Beck. He'd be eating the fender of somebody's car.

Only one President in the last 30 years has no ran a dept. What do you suppose these good "non-partisan" tea-baggers would say to having Bill Clinton address one of their rallies?

Hope not one of them ever loses their jobs (if they even have one) and need health care. Talk about fighting against your own best interests!

These idiots think they care about spending? Well health care costs are soon going to take 30% of your pay if we don't enact health insurance reform.

Leave it to idiots like these Teabaggers to act against their own interests. No matter how much the insurance companies rob them blind, they still act like a bunch of kiss-ups to them!

I have yet to see any minorities out protesting health care. looks like a bunch of white people who hate to see money being spent on minorities. that is basically what this is about! so lets just continue to downplay racism and the republicans role in keeping america white. there are just too many minorities in the u.s. now to get away with this. that's why the republicans are looking for their "Great White Hope".

When libs protest it is "grass roots and for the people", when conservatives do it it is wasting gas and unpatriotic. I personally don't protest–I get the facts, ask questions, and let my elected officials know what side I am on. I hope that those who object to the tea party protests will also object to the lefts who protest. No? It figures. If people on either side think that they, only, should have a right to protest, they make themselves look ridiculous. I would like to ask those who are for public option health care why they think many are opposed to it. Do they think the "nays" LIKE paying high premiums (those who get it through their employers could realize bigger paychecks if the employer didn't pay for health coverage and those who private-pay could save a LOT of $$)? Do they think the public option will give them better services, but, still oppose it? Or, do they know what happens when the gov't tries to run anything? Name one gov't run program which is not rife with graft and waste. Also, maybe they have read the bill–have you? It must be read realizing what is being said, what isn't being said, and how that can be interpreted/twisted.

Those "Tea Baggers", "Birthers", and other right wingers are typically paranoids who live in seclusion while listening to Right Wing Radio and watching Fox News.. They blog about the latest conspiracy of the day, death panels, tsaking guns away, abolishing marriage. These are some pretty sad, twisted individuals. From an Economic standpoint they vote against their self interest...all in the name of Conservatism...

It's interesting the signs in the photo show "Grandam run over..." and "...Dying...". Their protest is based on a pack of lies (death panels anyone?). What a sad joke.

Could these people even cite one increased tax they now pay as a result of the Obama administration? I know my paycheck is little bigger due to the President but I haven't seen any increased taxes.

the stupidity of these people is beyond comprehension. A bunch of screaming idiots – with their hate filled signs. If you see this bus – make sure you get names, addresses and take their pictures. then post them on the internet and a threat to national security. Also you might want to notify their families so that they will make sure to have them committed upon their return.
