'Tea Party Express' trucks on with tour aimed at health care

WASHINGTON (CNN) - They're angry and not going to take it anymore. And now they are doing something about it – again.

On Friday, the "Tea Party Express" group will travel cross-country on a bus tour starting in Sacramento, California and winding down in Washington, D.C. on September 12.

It's at that point, the group notes, that a three-day march on the nation's capitol will take place to protest the country's rising deficit and fear over taxes being raised.

The tea party movement gained momentum this year as several parties were held across the country this summer to protest President Obama and the Democrats' economic stimulus plans, among other things.

On July 4, nearly 2,000 advocates - toting signs and chanting slogans - rallied outside Congress. Activists said the TEA Party Day - an acronym for "Taxed Enough Already" - was in response to what they called runaway government spending.

But now, the focus is namely on health care reform – a key issue that has created the spark for a bigger, wide-encompassing debate throughout the country and in Congress.

"What brought everything together was the Obama-care idea, which contains every odiferous objection," Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams said Friday. "Is it health care? [Ted] Kennedy care?"

These lib posts are killing me! "Whats wrong, don't these people have jobs?" Here is a key answer numbnuts, No they DO NOT and in alot of cases they are the same people that were paying 50K /year in taxes last year. Instead of focusing on the economy and creating jobs, Obama has been off on a left wing nut course of politics set on destroying capitalism, creating massive debt the likes that have never been seen before in HISTORY! We are now in an escalating war in Afghanistan that we will never win and our country is a mess and on the verge of total social unrest.

    Gee, yeah, go Obama!

It seems that the G.O.P. obviously has no interest in a healthy America and have indoctrinated their supporters with fear mongering lies. Why?

Why are 90 percent of the tea party clowns senior citizens? Its because they don't like a black man being President. If they really cared about spending, they would have been protesting when Bush was President. But no, they have to blame everything on President Obama.

Typically, when people protest it is becasue they want to bring attention to thier needs, but here tese people are protesting to stop health care reform that would clear;y be in each of thier best interest – so sad and even after it was reported that the Insurance industry spent Big $ to learn what buzz words would upset the old and stupid.

March on you Stupid people voicing your support for making the Insurance Industry more rich.

It would be nice to see a grassroots effort but when its backed by lobbists it smells fishy. If you have concerns ask for a copy of the bill, read it and then deside. And for you non DEM or Independents ( GOP ) have someone with intelligence read it to you before you disrupt a peaceful town hall.

There's nothing standing between us and being uninsured other than an employer who woke up this morning feeling like they could still afford to provide you and I with insurance.

silent majority? I think you must be confused, randy. They are a minority and not very silent. What are they really protesting? All I can figure out is they don't like OUR President and don't want to hear any explanation of any legislation or anything that comes out of a Democratic Administration. You can't have it your way, all the time. There is a Democrat in the White House, but because he's Black, these people carry signs with Hitler's face superimposed on President Obama's and bring guns to protests and wonder why no one wants to listen to them. You do not have a choice as to how 'your' tax dollars are spent, any more than I do – I didn't want my tax dollars spent on wars and contracts with Halliburton, but I didn't try to incite violence against those I didn't like. Additionally, you guys keep bringing up ACORN and Code Pink (I'd never heard of either until this past election), but I don't see either group attracting this much attention, so they obviously have little impact.

I hate to bust those people's bubble, but it isn't Obama that's causing the healthcare problem, It is the American people. Therefore they need to own up to the problem and debate it in a peaceful way. The only thing they are protesting is having a new president and aren't acceptable to change. Most of them are misinformed, misguided, idiots, rednecks, and Republicans

"This is not people upset over one particular politician or one particular party," Williams said. "In fact, if you ask the Republicans in the crowd, you'll find they are just upset at their party as they are at the Democrats."

A lot of independents and even a few "conservatives" underestimated the damage that their protest vote against Bush and for Obama would ultimately cause and now are having second thoughts. There was no mandate, just an anti-bush vote. You only have to look at the recent poll of how 96% of jews feel that Obama is NOT favorable to Israel and yet he got a huge amount of Jewish votes. That will not happen in the next election.
