Wilson apologizes: 'I let my emotions get the best of me'
WASHINGTON (CNN) - GOP Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina issued a statement Wednesday night apologizing for his outburst during President Obama's speech to Congress:
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”

So inappropriate and immature for someone to interrupt the President of the United States in this way, whether you agree with him or not.
I wanted to send Rep. Wilson an email this evening about this... but his Contact web page is down. It looks like either the server is down, or a LOT of people are trying to send him an email about it, or both. If I had been able to sent it, the email would say just three words...

He doesn't need to issue a statement rather a public apology. He embarassed himself on national television.

It's good to know that Rep. Wilson figured out that the deportment requirement for a joint session of Congress with an address by the President might be a little different than showing up at a Tea Party. I'm sure he got a little help from nearly universal agreement that his outburst was completely out of line.
I have never witnessed such outright disrespect for a president.
Can your response be any more scripted? You, Joe Wilson, are an embarrassment to the state of South Carolina and your childish outburst clearly eclipses any good you may have done. May God have mercy on your soul.

The good people of South Carolina deserve better. Never have I seen such disrespect and childish behavior. Disgusting. He should resign immediately.
South Carolina GOP Rep. Joe Wilson should face full censure by both houses of congress. This type of behavior towards President Obama is completely uncalled for. His apology is simply not enough.

"I let my emotions get the best of me." What is this man – a United States Representative or a spoiled, frustrated toddler? The jab about disagreeing with the President's statement deflates any real meaning in this disingenious, hollow apology. Here's an idea, Mr. Wilson: keep your mouth shut and your mind open. You, your staff, your constituents and your party should be ashamed and embarrassed for your regrettable behavior.

Tomorrow we will be contacting several small companies in South Carolina with whom we do business and advising them we are boycotting the state so long as Wilson holds office. We will also be working to organize a national boycott of Sc State businesses in an effort to have Wilson censured

The president spoke eloquently about the character of this country, and we have this disrespectful, dispicable racist congressman from the south behaving in such poor taste.
