ActBlue raises over $750,000 for Joe Wilson's opponent

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Online fundraising site ActBlue announced Friday that since Republican congressman Joe Wilson's outburst during President Obama's address, his Democratic opponent Rob Miller has raised over $787,951 (and rising) on the site.  The first donation came in at 9:15 p.m. ET on September 9.

ActBlue Deputy Communications Director Adrian Arroyo told CNN that the donations have come in from over 21,622 people since Wednesday night's speech, a major jump from the 5,000 who had contributed as of yesterday.  Arroyo admits that since the fundraising push is viral, "there is no one place to locate what is going on.  You have DailyKos, Twitter and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee circling these issues. There is no one prime mover."  The mean contribution size is $36.

Two links leading back to ActBlue's donation pages have been clicked on over 9,500 times, said the group. Two days after the speech, Joe Wilson is still the top trending topic on Twitter - and ActBlue has benefited greatly, with more than 1,000 tweets about their fundraising efforts for the congressman's opponent.

The GOP and those who support them, (not all Just the closely related ones) – are still living with Narrow-minded Racist Uneducated Lives!
Misery loves Company, and that padded room is getting very crowded.

Joe Wilson's disrespect for the "Seat of the Commander-in-Chief" is NO surprise. What else do you expect from a member of the "Sons-of-the-Confederate" when a Bi-racial man (aka Black) happens to sit in that seat. It is part of Joe's confederate DNA to break professional decorum because a Black man is Commander-in-Chief.

Well, too bad about Wilson, however, the great health care scam of 2009 has been watered down to nothing – except the requirement that you MUST, under threat of seizure, pay your after-tax dollars to fat, greedy insurance execs. Way to go!

ActBlue, by design, provides a quick and easy method for foreign governments, and even terrorist groups, to contribute loads of cash to their favorite candidates in the US.

I just gave $25.00 to Miller. Let's go dems and independents. Turn up the heat. Finish Wilson off, in swift manner.

Jon in CA – PPP just have a poll out; Miller leads 44-43 against Wilson, with 62% of voters in SC-2 disapproving of Wilson's actions.

Those liberals. Just throwing their money away.

As a member of the "Sons-of-the-Confederate", the way Joe Wilson sees it, South Carolina and his beloved Confederate would rather restart the Civil War before sitting in Congress looking up to a Black man as Commander-in-Chief.

Well let all the looney liberals donate. Its who wins in the long run thats important. Wilson apologized just like Obama did when he called a police officer doing his job a stupid act. A person that apologizes and admits their wrongs have more integrity vs. the person riding on their coatails for the win.

The last time I checked Wilson's received large contributions from the health insurance industry. Google it..

    To Susan at 5:03 p.m.

Check out the "Independent Medicare Advisory Council" (and associated proposed legislation) at the White House's website. A word of caution though, the White House's search feature omits links to the important items – you need to use google to find those items. Nonetheless, the documents themselves are still on the White House's website. The July 27, 2009 letter from Peter Orszag to Nancy Pelosi is my favorite. Happy hunting!

Many Americans do not think Joe Wilson's dishonorable actions belong in public office.

Rob Miller's contributions are over $812,000 now.

It appears all the Democrats have to do is nothing. Just stand out of the way as your Republican opponent makes a fool of himself on national TV and the money just starts rolling in.

I bet not one dollar has come from Wilson's own district. The voters in Wilson's district are probably falling down laughing at all the money coming in for his opponet. Wilson guaranteed his re-election by calling Obama a lier on national TV. He's a hero in his district. This is too funny.
