Wilson says no more apologies for outburst against president

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday that he will not apologize again for his recent outburst during the president's address to Congress."]
(CNN) - Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday he will not apologize again for yelling out that President Barack Obama lied during the president's speech to Congress last week.

"I am not going to apologize again," the South Carolina Republican said on "FOX News Sunday" when asked about pending disciplinary steps against him by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives.

Wilson said he already apologized to Obama and that the president accepted it. However, he insisted that Obama "was mis-stating the facts," and that Democratic leaders in the House were "playing politics" by continuing to focus on the issue.

Idiots...out of one side of their mouth they complain Obama does not even have a bill...yet, out of the other side of their mouth they claim he is lying about a bill that does not exist...a lie is when you say one thing and the facts validate something different you freakin' example would be saying something like, uh let's see, we went to war because of WMD and finding out there were none...or, saying read my lips, no new taxes and then you raise taxes...those are lies and maybe if wilson would have had the courage to call out Bush and Cheny on their lies the loss of over 1,000 american soliders could have been prevented...america first, yeah right!

Democrats are just as guilty. They Booed President Bush in his 2005 State of the Union Address. Where's the outrage from the left over that? None. Just shows the hypocrisy of the previous posters and the left. I'm not in favor of what Joe Wilson did, but the outrage from the left is pathetic. They are just as guilty. Seconds before Wilson's remark, the President was calling a large section of the american people liars. Pathetic.

No his career is just starting for stating what alot and I mean alot of us Americans dont agree with this administration. Its the truth what he yelled and you all know it, but are too afraid to admit that it was a mistake to put this administration in office. We did not see our soldier who have died to make this America, to see this administration bring it down. Enough of the bleeding hearts who think this administration is right!, He even said he has to "own it" its his party now, not Bush's.

Why do some people continue to belive that illeagle alien's will be covered under a UHC plan?
I would assume that in order to qualify for such a program, one would have to prove citizenship.

Wilson is so blinded to other points of view that he has failed to look at the Politico Fact Check to see that he is wrong.

He is the the problem of the South Carolinians now. It is a nice political state to be in currently. They should start all over and elect all new politicians, may be smarter and non-adulterous ones this time!

How are we ever going to get anything accomplished in this country if we continue to let people like Rep Joe Wilsom make such a public display? Is this really something we would want our future generation to do..where is the respect and treatment of dignity from others. Do we think that someone can sit behind our freedom of speech and believ that such actions are what our forefathers would have wanted?

Just being loud does not make you right. Maybe South Caroline need to learn this lesson. Have you people been to South Caroline? That state needs lot of investment in education. Otherwise, they will keep on voting these people in higher offices. There is nothing more dangerous to democracy than an uneducated and not willing to learn elector.

Rep, Wilson – face the fact that you are racist (obviously) – and that you just couldn't contain your anger when our President was giving a speech. You can't stand the fact that he made it to be our President. Well – put a sock in it and grow up. You are irrelevant – and you will become more irrelevant as time goes on. Worthless.

i can't believe what happened to us? There are SOooooo many legitimate arguments against some of the proposals in place (tort reform, level of coverage, mandates).. why are we wasting our time listening to guys like Hannity and Limbaugh??? the more we detract from real arguments, the more likely it gets pushed through!!!

This redneck cracker still doesn't understand that he made two errors. He shouted a dumb remark at the President and he breached all protocol of our expected congressional behavior. I know they probably behave this way in the Country of South Carolina, but in the United States, we don't do this.

As usual, another CNN forum with entirely predictable, scripted "observations". Anyone who doesn't have blind obedience to Obama and his collection of amateur politicians and professional liars would know that Wilson spoke from the heart, based on facts. I know this will be far, far over the heads of 99% of the respondents here, but when people work for a living, they expect something in return for their work and don't mind helping a person in need, but government rewards people for laziness and that is an entirely different situation. Will a government-sponsored health plan require that people contribute in some fashion, even if they cannot pay? I don't think so, and the professional slackers know that they'll be able to get away with as little work for another government benefit as they have with other benefits. It's one thing to want to work and not be able, it's another thing to be able to work and not want to. When the people posting their 15 seconds of fame here can understand that difference, then maybe they'll hear a slightly different tune in their heads.

Joe Wilson was ordered by the leadership of the GOP to apologize to the President. His apology was not genuine nor sincere. He deserves to be disciplined by the House for his boorish behavior. The GOP has become the party of sore losers.

    Hey Ken:

CNN would like you to believe that this has never happened before. In reality, go and re-watch the 2004 and 2005 State of the Union Address. Listen to the Democrats when Bush is talking. Pretty much the same thing – except that so many were yelling out, you couldn't single out just one. In fact, reporters said at the time, "looks more like the British Parliment than the US Congress..." Sound familiar? How soon we forget...

Explain to me why two amendments that would have required verification of citizenship to get coverage were voted down on party lines? The bill says "Undocumented Aliens" – lets give all the illegals a document saying they are illegal – then they are documented...US Healthcare should be for US citizens. When you find that language in the bill, let me know

This is Mr. Wilson's 60 seconds of fame..The increasing anxiety of the decreasing white majority finds its woeful expression in bigotry and ruffianism all the way up even to Congress. Mr. Wilson's 60 seconds of fame will fade out as America becomes ever more the democracy we know it to be. Our President accepted the apology. Move on everyone. We are a melting pot of races and ethnic diversity. Get over it!

I wish Lincoln had just let the South secede in 1861. Then we wouldn't have to put up with narrow-minded, mean-spirited idiots like Wilson. He's just like that other treasonous wing-nut from South Carolina, John C. Calhoun.

If Joe Wilson is not sanctioned, it is fair game to call any president a liar, a thief, and any other insult that a political party can muster. There will be no hope to ever reach compromises again. It sickens me that the majority of the republican party will not attempt to compromise and try to solve any of the nation's problems. Really everybody, how many times could someone have yelled "Liar" at George W. Bush. Sanction Wilson, and let's regain some decorum.

Since when in the Coutry are we not allowed to voice our opinions. We have and elected President, not a King; at least not for now.
He did apologize, get over it.
The ones who should be apologizing are the lying Congress and their suppoters like the Trial Lawyers, ACORN and MOVE ON.
Maybe if the Mainstream Media would report what is really going on in our Government there wouldn't be so many blind idiots supporting the likes of Pelosi, Waters, and the rest of the crooked Congress.
This is America. We still do have Freedoms.

He needs to apologize to Congress. He should also apologize to the viewer, the American people. He was both RUDE and WRONG, as Obama was quite right about there being specific language to exclude illegal aliens from participation in the program.

I strongly support Rep. Clybourn's call to have Congress vote against this man with an admonition or a censure.

Joe Wilson has courage. He calls the presidents bluff and no one can seem to comprehend on the Comedy News Network that Joe Wilson was right. The POTUS with the help of TOTUS Lied to the entire nation in his speech. What can be more disrespectful than that.

Rep. Wilson got paid for his performance and the Insurance Company isn't paying Wilson again for the same thing. Look Wilson gave a fake apology and some Americans feel being disrespectful is just fine and everyone even kids should be allowed to do it. Republican Christian Family/Moral Values at work in America. We even saw how the march on DC with the protesters had to be given the spin/lies because there aren't that many racist haters left in America. Just think we witnessed History live on TV as this is the first time any President of the United States has been shown such disrespect and shown lack of manners. The Journalist in Iraq disrespected President Bush and was sent to jail because in that country all citizens must show respect to a visiting President. But the United States well we can act like idiots with no respect and no one has a problem with that. Next we'll see people disrespecting the Church, Courts and even kids will disrespect their parents and we will thank Rep. Wilson for leading the way. In the 50's and 60's those with rooted hate and evil hid behind a white hood to cover their faces as today they don't where hoods and we can see who they are. The only real surprise is to see how many well educated Christian people have joined in with these wing nuts. Just think of how the soldiers who are minorities feel now about putting their lives on the line for Americans who truly hate them and as one protester said " wished the President would die with Kennedy". I watched my country assassinate President Kennedy I never thought I would see Americans have that type of hate and evil in their souls again. ABC Charlie Gibson showed long before President Obama was sworn in office how much he didn't like him and it must be really heard as Mr. Gibson is resigning from the Anchor seat. Journalist Dowd is so upset she even uses the word boy in hopes it catches on with her readers. Others have just gone crazy as we see with Beck, Bachmann, Cantor, Limbaugh, Steele and others. Change and Equality is not here yet and many are fighting it tooth and nail as it's hard to leave the Satan Club for some.

The indignation of those "appalled" by this behavior would have even a shred of credibiliy if those outraged by the outburst had said just one thing to criticize the vicious, hateful personal attacks launched against the previous president. Calls for greater respect for theoffice of the President are laudible and late. At least eight years late, to be more precise. Get over it, hypocrits.
