Wilson says no more apologies for outburst against president

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday that he will not apologize again for his recent outburst during the president's address to Congress."]
(CNN) - Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday he will not apologize again for yelling out that President Barack Obama lied during the president's speech to Congress last week.

"I am not going to apologize again," the South Carolina Republican said on "FOX News Sunday" when asked about pending disciplinary steps against him by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives.

Wilson said he already apologized to Obama and that the president accepted it. However, he insisted that Obama "was mis-stating the facts," and that Democratic leaders in the House were "playing politics" by continuing to focus on the issue.

If you wouldn't have been such a idiot in the first place you wouldn't be apologizing. You showed a lack of leadership, ethics, and moral correctness with what you did the best thing you could do is resign. I know for a fact the south carolinians don't want you back.

This man is a true American Hero, he said what 70 % people are thinking, Obama is a socialist, and unfit to lead this country. He was right in calling Obama a liar. No I am not a republican or Democrat, I am an independent. Yes I voted for Obama, what a mistake, I apologize to all of you for voting for him,

How many times do non-partisan groups like or have to prove Pres. Obama was telling the truth and Wilson was lying before people understand that Wilson was lying and Pres. Obama was telling the truth?

The excuses to not listen to the independent verified truth is ridiculous.

50 years ago Wilson's behavior was socially acceptable and people like him could act in the way the he did and much worse. Present day, bigots and racists no longer have a voice in the United States of America.

He knows this and likeminded people like Wilson know that in 30-35 years Republican Conservative Pure Whites are going to be a marginalized, forgotten minority in the United States of America. This scares them to no end and makes them very angry. These racists and bigots are on the road to extinction.

It's poetic justice....unless you are Rep. Wilson or one of the 'deliverance inbred' who support him.

To the person calling himself "Barak the Liar:"

You say "Wilson was just calling a spade a spade."

Indeed. You and Wilson are both RACIST BIGOTS. So now I've called a racist bigot a racist bigot.

You just can't stand to see a black man as president of the U.S., can you?

Why is it that whenever liberals attempt historical parallels in support of one of their own, they rely on Republican statesmen such as Abe Lincoln or MLK?

The issue is health care, dummies!

All this crap about what one Congressman said is just partisan rants. And the people that call it racism are the sorriest of the bunch.

Lane summed it up perfectly in his 11:03am post.

Any further action by the Democrats against this guy would be counter-productive. He's already made a fool of himself in front of the entire nation, and with the exception of other fools like him, has been judged by the rest of us as being disrespectful and wrong. I wish the President had corrected him immediately by pointing out that under the current rules, signed into law by Ronald Reagan, no one can be turned away from an emergency room. On the other hand proof of citizenship might not be a totally bad idea if the public option were passed, but how many Americans currently have passports or certfied birth certificates? Both documents are expensive to obtain. some middle ground must be out there.

"What a discrace this man is to South Carolina, the US House, and the country as a whole."

You mean as opposed to Pelosi calling the CIA a bunch of liars, or Reid calling Bush a liar, or Odumbo saying the that anyone who disagrees with His Oneness is also lying? Joe was right. Odumbo mis-represented what was in the plan, just as he "mis-represents" so many other things. You're an idiot.

It is clear to me that Representative Wilson has no respect for the President and neither do the people who are jumping on his band wagon. They have no respect for our President or our country. While he is busy making money off his disrespect for our President, he is doing nothing to help the country or his constituents or his state.

Some people are adamant that race is not an issue but I thoroughly disagree. However, let us take race out of it and what do we have then? What we have is a bunch of people in the minority party determined not to work with the President of the United States. We have a group of people who spent eight years implementing the policies of their party which pretty much destroyed our country, but now they don't want to do anything to help restore our great country. We have a party who has refused to accept responsibility for ANYTHING that happened on their watch while eagerly trying to place blame on a President who has only been in office for nine months. We have a group of people who have allowed right wing hacks to take over their party spreading lies, hate and using fear and scare to intimidate and indoctrinate their listeners. What we have is a party who is more interested in seeing the country fail because they chose a Democratic President and took control of Congress. We have a group of people who are more interested in power than the American people. We have a group of people that led this country to the brink of failure but now they want you to believe they have all the answers. My question is where have they been for the past eight years? So, maybe it is not racist but what it is is anti American and unpatriotic and extremely harmful to ourcountry.

Where are their plans? What are their solutions? It seems their only plan is to oppose everything and anything this President does while not offering anything besides we told you so.

Pres. Obama said "the bill I sign(emphasis on sign) will not give medical care to illegal aliens"... he did not say if a preliminary house bill has that provision or not. It is not even written in its final form, yet!!! You repugs need to give the Prez a chance. Pretend he is white, if that helps you.

Of course Wilson would act like a big man on FAUX NEWS...its what the hicks want to hear!!!

Joe Wilson was nothing short of a hero at yesterday's Tea Party in DC.

I wish that Pelosi would give him the opportunity to syand before the entire Congress and then demand that SHE apologize to the CIA for calling them liars.

Haven't heard EVEN ONE apology from the ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS when they booed President Bush at the 2005 State of the Union Address.

    What hypocrites you all are!

Weren't the Democrats fighting each other for the microphone to denounce Saddam Hussein and his WMDs as early as 1998? Didn't Clinton proclaim regime change as the official US policy with Iraq? Wasn't Senator Robert Byrd (D. WV) a member of the KKK?

This guy just needs to read independent sources for the facts and he'll see how truly wrong his "interpretation" of the facts are. I wonder if he knew about the facts of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (that would the Bush administration)????It contained a provision for $250 million per year for years 2005-2008 in payments to eligible providers for emergency health services provided to undocumented aliens... Seems the Republicans already sanctioned spending federal money on undocumented aliens. Joe, what a big hypocrit!!!!!
