Congressman says some people aren't worth peeing on

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Pete Stark is involved in his own classic YouTube moment."](CNN) - Rep. Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, raised eyebrows last month when he told a constituent at a raucous health care town hall event, "Trying to have a conversation with you would be like arguing with a dining room table."

Now Rep. Pete Stark, D-California, is involved in a similar instant YouTube classic, telling a town-hall participant over the weekend that he wouldn't "waste the urine" to pee on the man's leg.

First reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and confirmed by a YouTube clip of the event, the longtime congressman made the remark after the participant launched into a long, but calm, litany about government inefficiency when it comes to nation's health care system. The man concluded his remarks with warning Stark not to "pee on my leg and tell me it's raining."

As the audience cheered, a calm Stark responded: "Well, I wouldn't dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn't be worth wasting the urine."

There was a mixture of laughter and boos as Stark motioned for the next question.

What Frank said might have been abrasive, but this is vulgar and disrespectful to his constituency and plain rude. Why are so many Republicans so crude?

This is the problem in American politics and you see it on this board. If you are Dem you only see things one way and the same for Repubs. Why comment if you are not able to understand that both sides love America but just have different views on what is best. I know on both sides that there are people that will never change and they only spew hate and call names.

It appears that the Repubs hold no monopoly on democratically elected idiots.

Almost forgot to mention, this rep obviously thinks that he is better than some people. Please remember that we are all equal.

Tacky. But those right-wing dingbats are so obnoxious and so foolish that the exasperate mature adults. Their eternal condemnation of government – about which they know nothing except thousand dollar toilet seats and welfare cadillacs – is so irritating.

"Keep government out of my medicare." "Keep government out of my union sponsored health plan" (Which was created by Harry Truman) "Keep death panels from snuffing out my old grandma."

These hayseeds are being played like a harmonica by Conservative leaders and corporate employees who specialize in political theater. They will be the ruin of us all.

And these are the leaders we have elected? Shameful.
The next elections should draw on the wisdom of the people; pursuing honesty, ethics, and common sense.

the arrogance in washington... arrogance that exists on BOTH sides of the aisle.

of course, CNN won't post this... mostly because it is a reasonable post, and isn't the usual partisan garbage they post.

The Democrats can say all sorts of derogatory comments to constituents (the people who pay their salaries) and get away with it, but when Republican Joe Wilson states the fact that Obama lies, he gets raked over the coals. Double standard, as usual.

I love these libs, ever so tolerant, full of compassion and extolling the highest degree of civility. At least he didn't tell the questioner "You lie!"

    Perhaps because he wasn't?

Disgusting response and behavior from an elected Democratic Official. Listen, empathize with your constituent and respond accordingly with dignity regardless of the man's metaphorical phrase however if cornered in your party line political lies and deceit, sling it baby . Typical....

It is amazing how people are upset when they get a response that they are not expecting. The gentleman got what he deserved. He made a nasty comment and expected nothing in return. Well, he got what he deserved. Good for Rep. Stark.

And we have a new champion in the dumbest elected official event!!!!

Seriously, what the heck was Stark thinking? I can't wait to see the slogans that his rival comes up with!!!!

Wow, what an intelligent comment from a Democrat, from California no doubt. As a Californian in this idiotic Liberal controlled state where they keep voting in Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer...............the rest of the country should take a close look at California, we are bankrupt and these losers won't quit providing all the freebies to the illegals that are bankrupting us. No, they just think we should smile and pay more taxes. Their only solutions to save money is to threaten to close parks. California is undeniably the Land of Fruits and Nuts! You want this for the rest of the country? If you said yes, keep on voting for the Democrats!

This demonstrates the TOTAL disregard liberal democrats have for real Americans and their ideas and beliefs. It is their way or nothing. Thankfully, 2010 is right around the corner. Mainstream America will be heard.

Good ! Strike back at these political punks, who suddenly have become interested in Town Hall Meetings, after crawling out of their holes where they have been hiding for years. Some stupid jack ass mouthing Boss Limbaugh "Government Inefficiency" diatribes deserved that comment. Democratic Politicians: Strike back. Don't take the abuse amymore.

B T W: About Government Inefficiency – you mean nearly backrupting the U S A, economic collapse, foreclosures across the Nation, destroying the job market, getting 4000 young people killed and 10,000 seriously injured in a war with a nation that did nothing to us, all in the period 01-20-01 through 01-20-09, and then leaving office with a 23% approval rating? Do ya think?

Let's face it: Bush was just a quitter. He got tired of his new toy (the Presidency), and just walked away from it in the final three years. Typical rich kid.

Good for him. It's time people start standing up to this very loud, yet very small minority. In dealing with children and the mentally ill, the authority always has to keep the upper hand, and sometimes that means getting down on their level. Most of the time it shocks the offender so much they snap back into reality, but the tea baggers, birthers, deathers and all their corporate handlers are too far gone. It's just best to get in a good dig and move on. Kudos to Rep Stark! The guy you responded to didn't vote for you last time, and he won't be voting for you the next time.

Perhaps the gentleman who asked Stark the question realized that his childish approach merited such a response.

For these slack jaw Christ Nazi Tea Baggers, maybe the term garbage in/garbage out should be applied or better yet "Poor White Trash in/trash response out.
