McMahon says WWE antics not a liability to Senate run

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/09/18/art.mcmahon.gi.jpg caption="Linda McMahon told CNN Friday she doesn't expect her company's colorful antics will serve as a liability to her campaign."](CNN) - World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon, who earlier this week announced she is launching a Republican bid to challenge Sen. Chris Dodd in a Democratic primary, told CNN Friday she doesn't expect her company's colorful antics will serve as a liability to her campaign.

"[Voters] enjoy our product, but they also know that it's an entertainment product that's on television and the company that's behind that is a very strong company," McMahon told CNN's Kiran Chetry on American Morning. "It's traded on the News York stock exchange."

McMahon - who joins a crowded field of Republicans hoping to challenge Dodd - also said she can identify with the financial plight of many of the state's voters, since she and husband Vince McMahon once had to declare bankruptcy.

"We lost our house, we lost our credit cards. We couldn't even rent a car," she said. "So I know the angst of that. I know the embarrassment of that. I know what it's like to wonder, are you going to have a job, are you going to be able to make your mortgage?"

McMahon also said she is running to reform Washington's "reckless" spending.

"You know, I'm a businesswoman and I've been watching what's going on," she said "The mounting debt that we have, people out of work, reckless spending going on in Washington, and I couldn't sit on the sidelines and watch anymore. I really wanted to get in, to do something."

She should not deceived herself that since California governor Swaznegger or whatever you call him used his popularity as a movie star to win the seat, she too would win.

"McMahon also said she is running to reform Washington's "reckless" spending."

"she and husband Vince McMahon once had to declare bankruptcy."

Am I the only one who thinks that the fact she once had to declare bankruptcy doesn't exactly inspire confidence that she can reform Washington's reckless spending?

More phoney outrage from a right-winger. Where were they all while Bush and his cronies were spending the 3 trillion dollar Clinton surplus, and burying the country in 9 trillion dollars of debt by the time Bush left office? WHERE WERE THEY THEN??? Anyone who supports the Neo-con haters of democracy don't deserve the vote that so many worthy individuals fought and died for. Disgraceful sub-humans.

It's funny how Republicans were fine with "sitting on the sidelines and watching" when Bush was doubling our national debt while at the same time plunging us into a recession. Now that we have a Democratic president, suddenly they have to "do something" about the spending?? How hypocritical can you get?

Mrs McMahon: It would have nice to see you come off the sidelines before the reckless spending begin 8 years ago. It is a little late in the game to play savior. In case you missed it your Republican party has lot to do with the reckless government behavior we are seeing now. What makes you think you can do any better? What qualifies you to run for office? You have no time invested in helping to solve our nations money troubles. What have you done before now to help out before you decided to run for office? You are just a another greedy businesswoman who is looking to cash in while the nation is in trouble. Give me a break!

Linda McMahon is one very smart lady and we need a lot more like her in office. Good luck to her and I hope she wins by a landslide.

Maybe Linda thinks she can run and maybe even win. But what can she offer the senate that no one else can or even tried to offer? Whatever happens, I wish her the best.

We need new blood. Anyone is better than that crook Chris Dodd. How does Dodd have the guts to run, after being a key member in the housing crisis! At least Dodd got his sweetheard deal from Countrywide Mortgage.

I don't have anything against her wrestling connections, but we don't need Republican answers to most of the problems we are having right now. We already saw what happens when they get a chance to run things.

Any idea what she thinks about any other issue besides money? Would she support real health care reform? Is she anti social programs? Is she anti gay? Would she want to privitize Social Security? Does she want to force school to say public prayers? In other words, just how Republican is she?

McMahon also said she is running to reform Washington's "reckless" spending.

Where have this fruit cake been the last 8 years when Bush was spending reckless and using are tax money to fund illegal wars. I really thing most republicans really think the last 8 years did not happen. The last 8 years of the Republicans party running this country to the ground with deregulations from big corporations and banks will be the GOP Waterloo and 2010 AND 2012.

How is this woman going to explain were she has been the last 8 years if she thinks she is going to run on reckless spending? Does this woman still believe most American are still to stupid to notice that it was her party that spend reckless for pass 8 years.

I think this woman just insulated most American with her phase McMahon also said she is running to reform Washington's "reckless" spending.

Also, her CEO TITLE WILL IS HER WATERLOO!
