Obama to host meeting of Israeli, Palestinian leaders this week
WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama will host a trilateral meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced Saturday.
Gibbs said the trilateral meeting would come immediately after bilateral meetings between President Obama and the two leaders.
"These meetings will continue the efforts of President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Special Envoy George Mitchell to lay the groundwork for the relaunch of negotiations, and to create a positive context for those negotiations so that they can succeed," said Gibbs.
"It is another sign of the President's deep commitment to comprehensive peace that he wants to personally engage at this juncture, as we continue our efforts to encourage all sides to take responsibility for peace and to create a positive context for the resumption of negotiations," said Special Envoy Mitchell.
I wonder which group sees Obama as an friend and which sees him as the enemy these days?
It is clear that President Obama is ready to work with both sides of the conflict to see a lasting peace in the middle east. When the President gets it right the Republicans make no comment or acknowledge that he is doing a good job. I beleive that this President will not only bring change but change the way the world looks at the United States of Amrica. He has my vote for his re-election in 2012.

I wish President Obama could be successful, but I don't have much hope for a peaceful settlement in the Middle East yet. The Islamic extremist in Gaza and the West Bank do not understand the words compromise, or peace. Change for them will have to come from within. That change will come when the peace loving Muslims in their midst, say, "enough is enough".
Not surprisingly, in their world, those Islamic Extremist are their right wing "Conservatives"!!!
