Message to Newt - You are out; he's in. Air Force One has constant communications; the President did not go out of touch by travelling to Copenhagen. Hey, he tried.

CNN MSNBC insisted that polls showed that the citizens of Chicago were devided about the games. Reporters politicians and commentators questioned the involvement of the president over and over again. Crimes on the streets were played over and over without solutions.

In the effort to report we have painted an undersireable picture of Chicago. The beauty of Chicago was not talked about.

I truly believe that the media in it's effort to be the best has once again set the stage for defeat. Our influence and the effectiveness in all things can be destroyed from within our own systems.

Given these reportings, who would want to vote in favor of such a place?

Instead of reflecting and surching for truth and responsibility the president is attached once again.

I love this county and I believe in what is possible in the USA. For me this realization is extreemly sad.

Don't stop the nonsense there, Newton. Obama is also to blame for David Letterman's and Roman Polanski's behaviors as well.

Of course this is Obama's fault. We can't show some class as a nation and give our congrats to another nation, in these Repub's eyes. Better to continue to hope the current President fails by celebrating his defeats, and talking poorly about other, less fortunate countries successes.

Jeez, really pushing the boundaries of the first ammendment and petty judgement.

Newt, the lying neocon cheater, should know a lot about foreign policy. It is his kind and their policies during the Bush administration that guaranteed that the United States would have no chance at hosting the 2016 Olympics. It will take more than a mere nine months for the rest of the world to forget the way the Bushies treated them with such blatant disrespect.

Hey Newt, we finally have a president who can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Unemployment is high because of this republican recession you gave the country last year.

    October 2, 2009 02:05 pm at 2:05 pm |

Right on Newt! speak the truth brother. Where are the jobs? where is the international good will he promised? Those of us who are the educated, knew he was full of sh#$. Now unfortunately everyone is seeing him as the phony that he is. He knows he and his party are going down to defeat. That is why tthey are trying to ram down our throats all these communistic plans. It is sad. The funny thing is Chicago would have gotten the olympics if he didnt poke his nose into it!

This was not President Obama's failure and those who try to make it out to be, should be ashamed of themselves. As a long-time resident of Chicago, I believe it is Chicago's reputation that hurt. Would you send your finest athletes to a city where thirty plus children are murdered each year? Where thugs can take 2×4's and pummel to death an innocent teen?

Let's look at a bigger scenario. The US is being humiliated world-wide by the behavior of our politician and people. I'm beginning to think the US is no better than other countries where they plot to overthrow the government. It is shameful that a survey should be taken on the net on the future of the president's life.

Mr. Gingrich you are one of the main causes of our problems. If we had gotten the Olympics, you would have attacked Obama for wasting his time on this rather than something else. Please create your own Olympics: see how long it will take you to dig to the center of the earth and then stay there!

  17. Independent Analysis

I'm neither for or against, so I can offer an independent, fair-minded analysis.

Obama made a critical mistake letting his old lady drag him into this. That was her baby from the beginning. I know he is a sharp guy as well as Rahm and Axlerod, so I think we can expect to see/hear much less of Michelle Obama going forward.

If the olympics are going to be in Rio, does that mean that beach volleyball will be topless? Wouldn't that be awesome? Have a nice day!

I agree America needs focused leadership.
There just doesn't seem to be any in the GOP these days.
    Can anyone name one?

I rather the U.S. fail in a respectful and charming way than to change our politics completely on different soil. It's true that you do have to put a different foot forward but for the President to have spent any more time there would have been uncalled for – or so would say Americans. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Newt – SHUT UP !!!!- No One cares what you think.

You are just another whiny out of work Republican with nothing better to do then slam our hard working President.

President Obama is doing a great job.

    October 2, 2009 02:08 pm at 2:08 pm |

Newt you are so right. This is shows appeasement never wins anything!!!!

Hey, Newt, the president didn't "fail" to get the Olympics. Neither did the folks in Madrid "fail". The Olympic committee chose Rio.

You do see the distinction, right?

    Oh, guess not. You're GOP.

And by the way, for someone who has no charm or ability to speak eloquently, you've got no room to talk.
