@newtgingrich President Eisenhower had a rule that Presidents of the United States went to the meetings after success had been assured

@newtgingrich President Obama fails to get the Olympics while unemployment goes to 9.8% Iran continues nuclear program. America needs focused leadership

When will Obama stop showboating and start taking responsiblity for his job?
There was no recession or finanical crisis before 2006 when Obama and the Demcorats took control of congress. But none the less Obama claims is was all Bush's fault and takes no responsibity for being a memeber of the Senate and a member of the majority party when the recession and finanical crisis hit.
Obama promissed the stimulus bill would create jobs quickly and keep unempolyment under 8%. It has failed to do so and unemployment is up to 9.8%. Yet Obama claims the stimulus has worked byond all expectations and has created over a million jobs over the last couple of months. How can that be? The economy has continued to lose jobs over the last couple of months. If over a million jobs had been created over that time unempolyment would not have gone up. Obama lies to avoid taking responsiblity for a failed stimulus and failing to create jobs.
On health care Obama tries to lay the blame for the struggles to get a bill passed on Republicans who do not have the power to stop any bill Democrats want to pass. The truth is the Democrats are bitterly split over the public option and can't pass a bill. But Obama and the Democrats again can't accept responsiblity for their own failure and blame the Republicans.
Obama and the Democrats are in complete control. Republicans can neither pass any bills of their own or stop the Democrats from passing any bill they want. Obama and the Democrats have full control over what happens between now and 2010. They might try and not take responsibily for what happens, but the voters will hold them to it.

Guess newt wasn't paying attention to the news yesterday of Irans sudden willingness to be open and allow IAEA inspectors into the new faciliity at Qom and possibly even move their enrichment outside the country so they would never have enough material to make a nuke....guess that charm and oratory didn't work for that foreign policy matter either huh. dumb ass...why does this guy matter?

Gingrich is just another in a line of arrogant Republican pundits who will take swipes at the president over the olympic thing. No one really cares Mr. Gingrich, as losing the bid is not the end of the world. Of course, if the president were John McCain, noone would be saying anything, let alone mocking him for his efforts to bring jobs to Chicago!

I just checked, the worst the unemployment rate has ever been in the US since 1940 is 10.8%. If not for Obama’s heroic stimulus efforts that created and saved 2 million jobs, our unemployment rate would now be over 11.1% (current 15.1 million unemployed divided by 9.8% = 154 million employable. 17.1 million that would have been unemployed divided by 154 million employable =11.1%).

If not for the heroics of Obama, the US would have seen the worst unemployment levels in our history. Obama has saved (or created) the collapse of our nation.

    Thank you Messiah.

Dear Mr. Gingrich, I am from Canada and I think that at least YOUR President tried to HELP. It was not his bid to lose or win. And I am very sure that if he didnot go YOU would be one of the 1st again to say why did he not go and help. If Presidents only go to meetings when they know there are going to win, then I guess they better stay at the WH for a long time.

Rebuilding America TAKES TIME. We cannot expect things to get better months after Obama coming into office. We had 8 YEARS of bad government, it will take more then some months to rebuild America.

What is Gingrich doing to rebuild America?

This fat pervert has some nerve, gloating in what is obviously a disappointment for Chicargoans and the President. Why don't you try worrying about who you are inviting to be honored and soliciting funds. Seems to me you got enough going on in your own little disgusting world! Oh yea, it will be a cold day in hell before you will ever be POTUS!

You go Newt!!! Obama needs to focus on more important items. Oh wait, traveling and making guest appearances is important, to Obama anyway. After all, 66% of his time to date has been spent schmoozing on talk shows and brown-nosing with other media and the other 34% has been spent on vacations. Great way to spend out tax dollars.

I sure hope the voters are paying more attention. Tuesday, the R's were condemning him for lobbying to get the olympics, now it is his fault we didn't get them.

Really, what is the limit of their hypocracy? Is there a limit?

    Get a life Grinch.

You don't kick a country when its down, and you attacking Obama for trying to bring the Olympics to the U.S. is like stealing Christmas trees.

I appreciate and respect what Obama tried to do with the Olympics greatly. Not only is his heart in the right place, but at least he has a heart, unlike Newt Grinch.

This bit with the GOP and it's relentless whining about the President is getting really lame. When was the last time Newt had a good idea or did something positive for the country?

Gingrich – I'll type slowly so you can understand this – the Olympics *is* an economy-booster. I know, I was in Los Angeles in 1984 and several of my friends had interesting jobs with the Olympics that gave them valuable experience when they went on the permanent job market later.

And if Obama hadn't gone you'd be criticizing him for not trying hard enough. Face it, you GOPs are so desperate to get some traction that you're hitting Obama every time he breathes just to see if anything will stick. You're idiots and you'll find out how bad this strategy is in 2010.

So a president goes to overseas to help win a million dollar Olympic opportunity for the Midwest and NEWT has something to say about it. What has he done to help 9.8% unemployement?, and keeping Iran from a nuclear program? Wouldn't an Olympic bid help lower the 9.8% unemployement?

Also why does it take 10 years later to fix Healthcare?

Keeping tweeting Newt, I am sure Obama is working on another project to help Americans. He has done more in 9 months then Bush did in 8 years.

Congressman Alan Grayson is right Republicans are Knuckle-Dragging Neanderthals"

Chicago Lost Because the World does not like us and IOC members voted against us.

    Bush and GOP have:
    1. Ruined our Reputation in the World.
    2. Made Enemies everywhere.
    3. Made the World to Hate us.
    4. Made no Friends.

BUSH and GOP are the BIGGEST AMERICAN FAILURE.

I get the feeling old Newty would hit Obama no matter which way the decision went. The guy could issue a statement that puppies are cute and water is wet and the neocons would take him to task for it. Why would anybody believe anything they say? Sorry repubs, you had your chance and the result was an epic fail. Be patient. Let the smart people run things for a while. Then after they've fixed things and people become complacent and put you back in power, you can mess it all up again. And so it goes… Have a nice day!
