[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/10/02/art.newttwitter.cnn.jpg caption="Gingrich is taking aim at Obama on Twitter."](CNN) - Former House Speak Newt Gingrich is taking aim on Twitter at President Obama over Chicago's loss in its bid to host the 2016 Olympics:

@newtgingrich Somehow charm and oratory dont seem to work in foreign affirs but historians have warned that foreign policy is different than campaigning

@newtgingrich President Eisenhower had a rule that Presidents of the United States went to the meetings after success had been assured

@newtgingrich President Obama fails to get the Olympics while unemployment goes to 9.8% Iran continues nuclear program. America needs focused leadership

Even in the most grotesquely dark days of the Bush administration nightmare, those of us (70-78%) who rued what was happening to our nation at the hands of thugs, were patritoic and adult enough to separate our critcisms of Bush politics this sort of malicious personal savaging that can't make such distinctions. The Repugs have come to define sedition, even treason - and have made it clear that they are perfectly gleeful at seeing any national disappointment as an Obama failure.

    Knuckle-dragging neanderthals, indeed.

Republicans still trying to seem relevant? Newt, with the circus that the republican party has become, you'd better pick a more meaningful battle.

If President Obama had stayed home, the republicans who are now criticizing him would have said, he was wrong for not going to support our country's bid for the Olympics. They want to see him fail and have no ethics–he would be criticized either way.

Gingrich is an idiot... He has neither oratory or charm, nor leadership qualities. But he's heavy with hypocricy. Why he (and Palin) can't just slither away from the spotlight is beyond me.. They've had their time... The right needs new blood..

If you repbulicans would ever come up with something constructive you might get someones attention.........all your constant complaining speaking against the President, all the Birthers, Tea Baggers, Radical right wing, Glen Beck, Hannity, this is going to cost you dearly again in 2012. If you were more positive instead of so negative to this President and this administration you would be showing that you are trying to make a difference, but the way you are going now and with the people representing the GOP you are driving more and more people away.....

Hey Newt, who cares what you have to say? The GOP will never gain back the White House in 2012 anyway. Congratulations, Rio!

Just like the Confederates, all the Republicans have to offer is TREASON!! President Obama is the President of the United States not just the Democrats. The man didn't CAUSE the economic meltdown that caused unemployment to rise to 10%–THAT WAS BUSH that presided over the Great Recession! These people will seize on anything to undermine Obama's presidency and divide, divide and divide so corporations can conquer. It's TREASON, TREASON, TREASON!!

Well gee, NEWT.... You were SUCH a help weren't you!

Yeah, Newt went out of his way to help us secure the Olympic bid didn't he. God forbid we bring in more jobs to America in the realm of construction, tech, sales, and great press on an international scale – and the millions and millions of dollars we would have netted (and taxed) on the international visitors that would have come to support the event.

Newt – You're a complete moron and as anti-american as is possible.

Worse, your followers are even dumber than you are.

The rhetoric becomes more amazing every day. Do either of these parties realize that the moderates, those of us in the middle do not buy into this high school name calling and one up-man-ship. If the idiot republicans like Newt want my vote back they had better start to find intelligent, rational Eisenhower like solutions for this country instead of acting like children. These fools are so easy not to vote for because they are embarrassing, childish and the moderate voter doesn't find any of the credible.

Chicago Lost Because the World does not like us and IOC members voted against us.
    Bush and GOP have:
    1. Ruined our Reputation in the World.
    2. Made Enemies everywhere.
    3. Made the World to Hate us.
    4. Made no Friends.

No one who voted President Obama before will decide not to vote for him again because he put himself on the line to gain jobs for this country.

Obama is going to have to face the fact that the world is not as in love with him as the media has depicted. It is because of his obvious arrogance and out-of-control ego that the IOC decided to give him a badly-needed REALITY CHECK and passed over his adopted hometown. If John McCain (or Romney or Huckabee) was president, Chavez and Gadhafi may not love us as much, but the olympics probably would have been ours. Elections have consequences. Deal with it, America.

Newt, is this guy stupid or what? This President is doing all he can do to get this country out of the rutt that George W. Bush left it in. It seems like every time a Republican obtains office, our economy goes to the dumps. Newt, continue to proclaim the Republican parties message, " assist the richer in getting richer and keep the poor, poor!"

    Always first class.

    Way to root against America.

Nothing says "I love this country" more than rooting against every single thing the president does.
