[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/10/02/art.newttwitter.cnn.jpg caption="Gingrich is taking aim at Obama on Twitter."](CNN) - Former House Speak Newt Gingrich is taking aim on Twitter at President Obama over Chicago's loss in its bid to host the 2016 Olympics:

@newtgingrich Somehow charm and oratory dont seem to work in foreign affirs but historians have warned that foreign policy is different than campaigning

@newtgingrich President Eisenhower had a rule that Presidents of the United States went to the meetings after success had been assured

@newtgingrich President Obama fails to get the Olympics while unemployment goes to 9.8% Iran continues nuclear program. America needs focused leadership

And this coming from a man who persecuted a President for the same sexual deviances he was himself involved in. And you wonder why a lot of us don't trust a word he says?

Rediculous. After Obama has given tax-payer assistance to major corporations, these CEOs stil refuse to hire people. They are using our money to pad their retirement or severance packages. And since CEOs tend to be conservatives, we only have the Republican party to blame for increased unemployment. Don't Blame Obama for bailing out companies, blame the Republican-controlled corporations for not doing anything with that money.

The leaders of all finalist host countries presented their case to the IOC: Brazil, Japan, Spain and USA. Why not ours?

Pres. Obama did well to convey a positive and gracious image of the USA abroad. I cannot image G.W. Bush would have been received so well. As the Olympics emphasize, winning is not everything!

I give Obama great credit for doing his best, for not quitting, for not being swayed by critics, and for having the courage to fight for what he loves and believes in – i.e. America!

I wonder if citizens of other countries are celebrating their nation's failed bid for the Olympics. ONLY IN AMERICA.

This could have brought a lot of money and jobs to the USA, but I guess that's not important to some.

This bid bag of hot air needs to shut the hell up. What's going on in our country has nothing to do with whether the Olympics could be here or not. See it bozo"s like this idiot that thinks that everything that goes wrong in this country it is President Obama's fault. Hell the umployment rate was going up when W was in office stupid newt. Just another example of how this party has no clue and yet instill they want to put every single thing on President Obama.

"Charm and Oratory" i.e. Diplomacy seem to be working just fine as regards to Iran and Russia.

Where dd the so-called, tough guy stance, prevalent in the Bush years get us? Oh, yeah.... that's right... nowhere.

In fact, the situation in Iran GOT WORSE under Bush's watch.

America needs more than just the executive branch to pull the weight. People have been avoiding the fact that congress has a say in it too,

I love to read the posts where people indicate they don't care and zzzzzz. Obviously they do. Do you really think a zzzzzz post has any impact but to make me laugh and post about it too?

I'd love to see Gingrich actually take a swing at the president and then get laid out. Seriously, this guy was worthless when he was Speaker Of The House, even more so now that he's twittering.

How is it "Wrong" for an American President to take a 1/2 a day to represent the US and our interests around the world?

What if that city had been Houston, TX? You think there would have been such a big deal if Bush had gone?

    I don't think so.

The failure was Chicago's Bid, not Obama's presence.

Air Force One is a flying Oval Office.

Obama was able to meet in person with General McChrystal for a 30 minute face-to-face.

Obama doesn't go... Obama is wrong.

Obama does go... Obama is wrong.

What does this guys think? Another day in the White House is going to make a difference to the economy or the wars?

Obama is a 21st century president, able to multitask, from anywhere at anytime.

First of all, ALL of the Presidents of the contending countries went to Copenhagen. Secondly, it would have brought a lot of jobs to the country, so it is good that he tried. Third, he met with Gen. McChrystal on the way, so the trip was really a red herring for that dangerous meeting. Fourth, Obama pulled a masterful trick at the UN, getting all countries including China and Russia to agree to the nuclear non-proliferation agreement pointed at Iran, and then the next day shocking the global community with the secret facility. Gingrich can't swallow that Obama has proven very skillful in international negotiations, especially where it counts.

Instead of focusing on what he feels the President is NOT doing, why doesn't he show us what he, himself, is doing...? It's easy to sit there and fire off things that 'should be done', but not offer any solutions yourself.

Newt, You are a big republican name...how about getting out there and doing something, youself, instead of pointing out how much others are not doing.

The President did every thing he could do to bring something really good to the USA. He made an effort. It didn't help. But he tried. And all Newt can do is find fault. I consider my self an independent, and have voted for many republicans, but it's getting harder every day to take the GOP for anything more than pathetic.
