(CNN) - A Democratic National Committee spokesman said Friday the GOP has "thrown in its lot with the terrorists" in criticizing the president's Nobel Peace Prize award.

“The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists – the Taliban and Hamas this morning – in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said in a statement.

"Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize – an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride – unless of course you are the Republican Party," the statement also said. "The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore – it's an embarrassing label to claim.”

I agree with the DNC. It sure looks like they are part of the terrorist group that want america to fail. Sound like Bin Laden has recruits in the GOP. They go to any lenght to destroy america they say i told you he cant do it. BuYes he can.

When will America accept good news without the critcism and negativity? Are we a country so cynical that everything this president does is open warfare against him , making the case that we are against ourselves? when did hope and change become the bad words and no became the good word we ought to be shame of ourselves as Americans to cheer when America loses the Olympics and revile when this president wins the Nobel peace prize. For all of his critics what on earth have any of you done that is positive in the last nine months? Are we used to so much bad that if something good comes along we can't recognize it? It is too bad that others can see what we can't and that is why we are being left behind globally. Some of you say he hasn't done anything yet, one thing I can say is he tries every day despite the republican leadership wanting him to fail.

The DNC is correct. The Republicans are trying to Overthrow our Government. They are Unpatriotic and what they are doing amounts to Treason.

I feel my Party ( Republican) has been hyjacked by the radical, right wing fringe of the party. That`s why they lost the presidential election. That and their spend-thrift ways the last 8 years.

Its so sad in our world that there are so many wanting others to fall. Its not the way we should be in life. Wishing someone to fail?? If the President fails.. WE FAIL! Obama has stretched himself to make peace and to fix relations with other countries. He has been busy fighting to do what he can do with the best ability he can given the Republicans pushing him back.

Its not the Presidents fault if he has not made much progress. Its the Republicans fault 100% for doing everything in their power to stop Progress. Which in turn is hurting everyone in America from moving forward and making things better!

I think Obama deserves this.. Obviously there are many others that believe he deserves it. Not like he asked for it. Or we voted for it.

I think Obama has worked harder than any President in my time. HE hasnt been sitting in that office doing nothing like the other Presidents in the Past. He is trying, he is working, and having to work against haters.

The RNC is right. This Nobel Peace Prize should be awarded to G.W. Bush for his accomplishment.

The right wing loonies have really lost it. All civility has gone. They are in a dark place with a VERY minute window looking out into the world. They are ungracious, hateful , ignorant and anti American.
I do not know if the President deserved the Nobel Prize but I am happy for him and America!

Oh Please! He was in office 12 days before nominations closed. This was a total popularity contest. The Nobel peace prize is now a cheap joke!

The Republicans is a disgrace to the USA and the world. Now you know why it hard to get an hand on the Terrorists and Taliban , because the Republican party is promoting those acts.

    Republicans hate me.
    Republicans hate America.
Republicans will rather this country fail to make themselves look good,
then to humble themselves and help make this country better.

They can lie to the American people, but what they have failed to realize is it is not only just about the US, but our standings with the rest of the world community. History will document their actions, and hopefully what Obama is attempting to accomplish, and we can let future generations decide for themselves.

While many Americans see Obama as some kind of Socialist caricature (thanks to Beck, Limbaugh et al), the rest of the World sees him as a breath of fresh air and a sign of hope after 8 horrible years. One may not be able to point to the "tangible fruit" of his efforts, but world-wide sentiment has significantly changed thanks to him - and apparently, the Nobel Committee thinks that is fruit enough. I did not expect them to choose him, but I certainly am glad they did.

Obama winning this is a crock. Guess what he has done:

He cut funding for the Connecticut-based Iran Human Rights Documentation Center. This is a watchdog group for Iranian human rights violations.

Not exactly the type of move someone winning the Nobel Prize should be doing.

BTW, it is not like being a democrat is a great honor either. Both parties suck.

It's funny to read that any American who did not want the Olympics to come to Chicago is alligned with terrorists. Some of us actually live in the real world and look at real data. The Olympics do not bring prosperity to countries that hold them, it has been proven time and again that unless run perfectly, they bring an economic downfall. Does anyone think the Olympics would be run smoothly in Chicago? The same Chicago that can't handle its own residents would be able to handle the thousands of tourists that would land in the city at one time? The reality (and I know this administration, very much like the last administration, does not like to face reality) is that the Olympics would have brought economic and security risks that this country can not handle right now. Absolutely I am glad we did not get the Olympics and I wish Rio the best of luck. And absolutely President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize is a joke. He might one day earn this prize but for him to get it now, when the only thing that has happend since he took office is that Iran is much closer to a nuclear weapon and our world much closer to a third world war, is a farce and diminishes the value and spirit of the award.

I 2nd the motion: Every Republican should hang their head in shame!
I assume there is still something known as real shame lingering in the ranks of the Grissely Obnoxious Partisians.

Woodhouse is correct. The Republican Party has abandoned all vestiges of patriotism in favor of "winning." They behave like spoiled children when they don't get their way. The thing is, its a lot less becoming on grown men and women. Clinging to their bitterness is one of the most disgusting things I have ever witnessed.

When you cheer for the US and our President to fail you are (as the Dubya says) "if yer not wit us, yer agin us". There is a long list of "haters of the US".
#1 is Fox media and hate radio are the "worst" because they are home-grown-haters who claim to be partiots and fire up the radical right with hate, misinformation and lies.
#2 is the Party of NO who were hired to work for the success of the US, and do just the opposite.
All just like the home grown terrorists ~ Oklahoma's Timothy McVay, Scott Roeder, Randall Terry, Atlanta Bomber Eric Rudolph, etc.. they are the real "evil doers".
And we never heard the main stream left cheer for Dubya to fail, it just came natural to him and the evil Dick.

I grow more disgusted with the republicans every single day. They have no pride in their country, they only care about their own power and scoring political points.

Whether or not you agree that the president should have received the award, this is a time for national pride, not criticism.

They could have at least congratulated him first before they started to criticize him again.

IT IS STATED: "... the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn."

That's because the REBUPLI-CAN'Ts represent the "small" pockets of America – the parts of America where REAL Americans live and are the ONLY Americans!!!! They used to be PATRIOTIC and claim everyone else that did not fit in there 'pockets" are not!!! It is embarrassing and it HURTS!!

Don't Worry – because it is very obvious to the world that the REAL TRUE AMERICANS are NOT the HATERS of the PARTY OF NO REPUBLI-CAN'Ts!!!

They don't like it because "peace" means "less tax money devoted to war with nothing in return". The extreme right lives for nothing more than to drain the wealth out of the United States and into the hands of enemy nations and corrupt corporations. When there is peace, that money ends up either back in the hands of taxpayers, or being spent for the good of the U.S. This is the last thing the Neoconservative, Anti-Americans want.

He has received the Noble Peace Prize and not accomplished anything, just hope. I heard Juan Williams ( I person I respect a great deal) make a statement on NPR that this puts him in a class with Mother Theressa and Edward Mandella. That is a complete joke to compare what he has accomplished with people like this.

And the DNC has the gall to compare any question of him deserving this award to siding with terrorist? We have become far to partisan in this country, we need a new party that can actually govern from the middle and let the loons on the left and the right have their little niche and scream all they want while we move forward.
