Nobel reaction battles

(CNN) - The RNC is reacting to the DNC's reaction to the RNC's reaction earlier Friday to President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize:

"Like most Americans, the DNC can't think of one achievement that the president has accomplished, so they resort to their predictable response and standard playbook of demonizing those who disagree with them. First they call Americans concerned over health care 'rabid extremists' and 'angry mobs.' Now, when challenged to answer the question of what the president has accomplished, Democrats are lashing out calling Republicans terrorists. That type of political rhetoric is shameful."

“The RNC is reacting to the DNC's reaction to the RNC's reaction earlier Friday to President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize”…. That entire sentence reads like a note passed around at jr. high school. These politicians are an embarrassment to the people of the United States! I mean really… how childish are these grown men/women? Why can’t they sit back and stop crying over spilled milk. The award has been made, what’s the point of whining and throwing crayons?

Why is anyone surprised by the reaction of the Republican-haters? The GOP has a long history of vile politics!

Who would want these haters in power again? Do we, really want the Republicans who hate, lies, fear-monger and divide us to lead us?

Republicans, by your hate, you are showing America who you really are. A bunch of egomaniacs.

First of all, the DNC doesn' t need to explain anything to the RNC about the many achievements President Obama has and will continue to accomplish. It is Nobel committee that awards this prestigious honor to whom THEY believe deserve it. Those who nominate the candidate are former laureates; current and former members of the committee and their staff; members of national governments and legislatures; university professors of law, theology, social sciences, history and philosophy; leaders of peace research and foreign affairs institutes; and members of international courts of law.

This alone speaks for itself. Congratulations President Obama.. WELL DESERVED!

Even if the RNC claims were true, it would be the pot calling the kettle black.

The questions I have are why is this a political issue at all? What bearing does the Nobel prize have on US government? Why does the RNC expect the President & DNC to "explain" themselves when this was the Nobel committee's decision? Are they going to claim that Acorn subverted the Nobel committee?

The fact is the Nobel committee has already explained the decision as an endorsement of Obama's diplomat agenda, which follows historical precedent. The RNC just can't stand that Obama got an endorsement and good press.

Ohhhh poor Republicans..... I'll award you the Nobel Anti-Peace prize! If anyone deserves it, it’s you!

Pathetic. What else is there left to say about these pathetic excuses for lawmakers and representatives of the United States. Seriously, somebody receiving a Nobel Peace Prize is an awful thing? Since when was this a terrible award to receive?

I thought Americans were supposed to support Americans here. All of this sanctimonious, pro-USA talk by the GOP has really fallen by the wayside in light of the Olympics and this recent revalation. The next thing you know, they'll be cheering for healthcare to fail.

    Wait a minute...

    What he hasn't accomplished:
He has not started any wars.
He has not put us 3 trillion dollars in debt to China.
He has not given up on his promises for Healthcare for all.
He has not caused a recession/depression.
He has not told bold faced lies to go to war.
He has not bad mouthed the GOP even though he should for putting roadblocks in the way of all he could accomplish.
He has not gotten rich from Insurance lobbies unlike many Republicans.
He has not profited from the misery of others.

He is our President. He represents our country in the world. He has not had 8 years to make us look like warmongering fools. He believes, rightfully, in Diplomacy over Destruction.

Those of you praying for his failure are praying for the failure of your country.

The President deserves the award. He is also in a powerful yet dangerous position by playing peace maker in this racist country. He carefully conveys his views while listening and addressing other view points.

This safe glorious country allows the advertising of the N-word in referencing our President at the Georgia Peach, which is owned by Republican Pat Lanzo, a convicted sex offender and longtime hatemonger in the town. The restaurant has a number of racist images in his Georgia Peach Museum bar such as cartoons of Klan members lounging on lynched black men and items disparaging Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A number of Klan rallies have been held here in the past. One such rally was the Aryan Unity Rally on May 18, 2002.

All Americans need to aide the President on keeping the peace.

What is wrong with our country can be summed up in just a few words, i.e. greed, fear of change, shame for our mistakes, and jealousy of those of us who support the hope for our children.
Perhaps Obama did nothing more than put us on a different track.
So, let us applaud effort and voice for a better America. I have personally been embarrassed by years of Bush/Cheney/ McCain/ and Palin being called the best the Republicans have to offer our nation.

The RNC should be ashamed of the ridiculous rhetoric and outright lies that they have spread every single day of the presidents term so far! They have acted like spoiled petulant children and whined non-stop. They don't have the class or manners to appreciate what the president has tried to do concerning world peace, and they criticize and slam his efforts at every turn. Any reasonalbly intelligent group would congratulate the president for winning the Nobel Peace Prize but not the Republicans in this country. Only Mike Huckabee is showing some class.....be it slight. The country is really seeing the classless and pathetic Republican party for who they really are!

Here we have a sitting American President winning a prestigious honor like the Nobel Peace Prize and all the GOP can do is whine and stew in a vat of sour grapes. Why do Republicans hate America?

I think it is sad that Republicans hate the President so much that they put down an award he got but was not even invovled in the process. He didnt campain for it, but the wonderful right wing is determined to show everyone how childish they are....and its working. Steele is a joke and many of the other Repubs are too. Get a life and show what you can do for the people as opposed to what someone else is supposedly not doing losers!!

Obama has done absolutely nothing to merit a Nobel Peace Prize Award. If going to different countries and denouncing the US is a condition for receiving the award then Obama deserves it. I would love to tell him where to stick that award. It is a shame that the award has been brought down in the prestige it once represented by giving it to Obama. As I recall, once before it was brought down in prestige by being given to Jimmy Carter. He is President when the economy is at it's lowest point in a long time. He has Socialized the banks and Auto manufacturers. He has bowed down to one of the major enemies of our country in Saudi Arabia. He has given aid and comfort to our enemies. He has snubbed our allies and friends. Yeah, he deserves that award. NOT.

This is why Obama went personally for the Olympic bid. He thought his rock stardom would guarantee the win which I'm actually surprised it didn't.

He can put up a good talk!

President Obama did more good for this country and the entire world within 2 weeks of office than President Bush did during his entire 8 years of office.

The Republican mission is clear: Turn a Nobel Peace Prize into a political liability for the President. They need to be clever in how they do this, but this is what they will strive for.

Every accomplishment of Obama will receive the same treatment: Make it a liability.

Republicans care only about money and power. "Peace" is a foreign concept, as is "dignity."

Look, wing-nuts, Obama didn't give himself this award. Other people did. Other JUDGES. In other COUNTRIES as well as our own. And they gave it to him because his mere ELECTION provided hope and unity around the globe like no other election before his.

He didn't ask for it. He was even surprised he got it. And he doesn't have to explain one thing about why he got it, because he had little to do with that decision, other than choosing to run as our president and winning.

Get over it. All your criticisms of Obama can't be true. You say he's done little in the nine months (or is it ten now?) he's been in office, then decry Democrats who like what he's done as considering him a "messiah." He's either capable of miracles or he's not - and it seems to be right-wing wing-nuts who assume he's capable of miracles or they wouldn't be saying "look how little he's done so far."

And you also say the world hates us now that Obama's there. Huh? The world hates us so much they just handed Obama a prime award for giving them hope.

That's two complete contradictions in theory, if you didn't notice. And it's only two of the many many dozens you present almost daily.

This was the decision of the Nobel Prize committee, not the White House.

What did he do . . . .well, for a start, the US economy "still exists" – considering the "train wreck" that we inherited from Bush, Cheney and an unnecessary war, thanks to those two-faced, racist hypocrites we more commonly know as Neo-cons.
