Pres. Obama is a marvelous choice for the Nobel Peace Prize! I am proud for him and for our renewed America!

Unlike the three prvious Presidents who received the award, the Committee gave its award because Obama has brought about a shift in tone and created a new climate in international politics. As the Committee stated, it "attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons." Bravo!

Right thing to do since he certainly didn't do anything, anything at all, to merit it!

I'm sure the GOP will oppose this, and I'm sure they'll scrutinize where every single penny of the $1.4 million goes. They'll probably wonder out loud whether any of it is going to ACORN. None of this will be backed by facts, of course, but the only thing the GOP is interested in is in implanting hate into the simple minds of the mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging GOP base.

A sad shame a republican didn't win the 1.4 mil. That would be a big donation to thier campaign. Why hasn't a Republican ever won it? Guess they're too busy picking on other countries for no reason. Well, guess they were thumping thier Bibles and this is God's way of giving republicans a taste of humility.

I wonder how the right will complain about this. They would find a way to complain for anything and everything he does or does not do. The GOP is bitter about their own failures and just cannot seem to move forward with any ideas other than to destroy and discredit Obama. They are shameful and unAmerican.

That is an honorable thing to do. Let's see how the right wing Republicans put their negative spin on this....I am an independant voter and I am watching how both sides handle themselves and I have to say the Republicans seem like sore losers and whine about everything but have no answers themselves....

It is great that President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Price. Also, it's wonderful he is donating the 1.4 million award to charity.

I don't understand why all the negativity over him been picked as the 2009 Nobel Prize winner. It's ridiculous. Instead of been happy for him, all his critics put him down. This is terrible.

He represents Hope, and this is the reason why he was unanimously selected. I have hope. I believe in what he's trying to accomplish. It's going to take time, but it will be done. He deserves the prize just for that fact.

In other news, Sarah Palin will donate all of the proceeds from the sale of her memoirs to herself. Rush, as always, will donate a significant chunk of his salary to his "pharmacist".

$1.4 million, wow, so given what his Administration is doing to the value of the US dollar that means by the time they cut him a check it will really only be worth about $750,000...

Hurry up and donate my President or all it will only be worth a cup of coffee and a donut!

Wake Up America, States Rights supersede the Fed, it is overgrown and outlived it's usefulness. Our founding fathers NEVER intended for the Federal Government to grow to the current levels of power and control that we are now being oppressed by!

    Congratulations President Obama!!!
This solidifies what most people in the world believe that President Obama could be the person who can do the most to bring the different opinions and viewpoints together. Yes, it maybe early in his term, but the potential that this award has something to be thankful for.

Now how will the Americans that are so full of hate, anger, and bitterness toward Our President and non-white people find a way to criticize our President. Thank you Mr. President, you are truly a World Leader.

How about donating it to the VFW's Veteran Service Officers so they won't have to let any of them go due to increasing costs and relying on donations for continued employment. Then they can continue the GREAT work they do for the millions of Military Veterans!

OH HOW SWEET. This is because maybe he has a little shame in accepting it in the first place.

The donation is nice but this just proves there is truly no qualitative sustance to the award. This award has becoming nothing more than an international platform for nordic styled socialism. too bad.....Nobel used to mean something.
