WASHINGTON (CNN) - They're angry and fighting back with full force.
The White House, Democrats and health care experts are blasting a new insurance industry trade report that finds that health insurance premiums for the typical American family would increase by $4,000 by 2019 under a key Senate overhaul plan.
The analysis by America's Health Insurance Plans indicates that under the Senate Finance Committee plan - spearheaded by Democratic Chairman Max Baucus - the costs of private health insurance would rise by 111 percent over the next decade.
Under the current system, costs would rise by 79 percent, the report said, and premiums for individuals could rise by an extra $1,500 if the Baucus plan is implemented. The report was conducted by the firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The committee passed the long-awaited $829 billion health care bill by a 14-9 vote Tuesday.
This reaffirms that a public option is needed to create some competition.
The insurance industry LIES...as usual.
The last thing the Libs want to hear is the truth. We the people are going to get government run healthcare whether we want it or not. The health care part isn't important, it's Complete Control.
The lack of interest on the part of the Insurance companies to take part in any type of reform is the fact that they openly admit that without reform health care costs will increase by 79% by 2016...that is 13% a year! Who except the top 5% will ever see 13% wage/salary increases of this magnitude. This is what the press should be jumping on rather than discussing the lack of truthof the insurance companies claims of the Baccus bill which the Budget office has flatly denied.
Jon Stewart was right about CNN the "we will have to leave it there" outlet which never fact checks or challenges the ridiculous comments made on their shows and let outlandish lies persist!!
I am a health insurance employee that cannot afford my own health insurance plan. For-profit insurers only care about profits, not their insureds.
Dont Believe Kerry, He LIED about his service in Vietnam.
You Libs will never understand it, but the cost of healthcare is going up under either approach. The cost of any government program is ALWAYS higher than predicted, and coverage will be worse. There is already a shortage of Doctors and Nurses, and 43% of Doctor's threaten to quit if the the Obamacare passes. Who is going to care for the increased millions of new patients?
