[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/10/14/art.gop.gi.jpg caption="The RNC has apparently changed the name of Michael Steele's blog."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - After an initial round of Internet mockery, the Republican National Committee has apparently decided to drop "What Up?" as the title of Michael Steele's blog on the newly revamped GOP.com.
One day after the rollout of the site, which crashed repeatedly throughout the day Wednesday and was ridiculed by Democrats and Republicans alike, Steele's blog is now called "Change the Game."
There's still only one post so far on the blog, a short entry that asks readers to answer the question, "Why are you a Republican?"
The GOP just can't seem to get their act together. One minute, they're pulling distasteful tweets off their twitter (the one comparing Pelosi to Hitler), the next minute they're changing the titles of their blogs. They are so desparate to get someone, ANYone to like them, they are scrambling every minute. They have no action plan, no agenda, no leadership, just silly rants, smear and fear tactics, aimed at doing nothing but distort and divide the country. The GOP has become the party of LOONS.
The website is a joke and simply highlights the ongoing desperation and incompetence of the GOP. Why did the RNC not wait until the site was finished to release?
And now, Steele copies President Obama's message of change (again). "What up" with that? LOL
What I would like to find out, is why is Steele a republican? I think he is nutty than a fruit cake. Thank you.
Oh great! Will there be a "GOP Lie of The Week" section??? We must keep abreast with the progress they are making towards toppling The President of the United States (their ONLY agenda these days).
Michael Steele is an idiot who owes his job to obama. i know the republicans are screwed up when they let this guy run the show. good luck. you will need it!!! this guy is well on the way to turning the republican party to the irrelevant status quicker than the 10 years that i gave it before
I'm a liberal democrat, but if someone, anyone, within the republican party would stand up to extreme wing of the GOP I would consider listening to them. Until then I will consider the GOP a hate group sympathizer.
To answer his question, "Why am I a Republican":
1) Because I have no morals
2) Because I like to lie
3) Because money is more important to me than people
It is not even grammatically correct for God's sakes. What was he trying to do sound like one of the 'brothers' from the hood? Remind people that regardless of what comes out of his idiotic mouth he is 'one of us'? Trying to gather the college vote under his teepee? Or wait, maybe he didn't realize that it was in fact grammatically incorrect, and an inappropriate way for someone in his 'position' to express himself. He needs to pay closer attention to our POTUS in regards to how to speak and conduct himself in public. Buffoon.
I'm a Republican because I'm selfish, self-centered and don't care about helping my fellow man. I DO want to make sure that the rich get richer, that the big corporations are who really governs America and that the working classes have no say in anything. I'm against the government offering Americans a choice in their health care, but I believe government should get in between a woman and her doctor when it comes to her own body. Did I leave anything out?
If it's Michael Steele, shouldn't the question be "Why you Republican, dawg?"
Good. Number one, we have enough people in this country who cannot speak or write decent English - we don't need to have people to make it worse. Number two, it underlines the fact that no matter what the color of his skin, Steele is not black!
The Republican Party is a disgrace and abomination. There is something putrid about these guys and gals. The Republican Parties of past decades did not make me want to shower after I hear or see them speak on issues. I think it may have started with the Newt Gingrich Crew a few years back.
Micheal Steele believes that Obama's appeal comes from his "black hippness and street popularity". This is why he tries to compete by using titles like "what up" on his blog. But Obama is not popular because of his hippness. Obama is an intellectual and a likable guy. A lot of blacks like him becuase he does not display embarassing steryotypical behavior the way Micheal Steele does. Steele's attempt at hippness is embarrasing to educated black people.
If they want to change the game they need to find a leader who is willing to do some work and not just complain. They want what they want and they want it now – just like a 2 year old. This is the same old game – maybe they can change things by yelling louder. Maybe they can be insulting and make up lies and change the game.
or not.
The republicans may eventually learn that life is hard – it's a lot harder when you're stupid.
Steele is such a dumb puppet.
Using urban slang in anyway will not help the Republican party attract minority support. It's amazing because Steele and the Republican Com. are educated but they come up with some of the dumbest ideas. The truth is, they're gonna have to change a lot of their policies to attract new voters.
"What Up" As if he knew without being told first.
"Change the Game". You ain't got none, brother.
That's two for two, Mikey. Care to try again?
Michael Steele is a joke, a loser and a lost sheep among wolves. Come home Michael, you know GOP is not your home. Rush dishes you, Glenn Beck laughs at you, and Fox ignores you, come home son.
The entire Republican Party is one big JOKE!
This is typical of the party of No. Too little too late. What's next, a hip-hop video showing Steele, Beck, Limbaugh et al? You don't attract followers by copying someone else's ideas, you attract followers by having real answers to the country's issues. It's embarrasing to see the GOP trying to attract the young intelligent voters with this kind of nonsense. Norm from New Mexico.
The GOP is so funny! You can't make this stuff up. Pure entertainment! Keep it coming!
The choice of "What Up.." just shows how disconnected Steele is from the black community,,,the title was strerotypical and pandering at best. "Change the Game" is almost as silly!!
That IS a good question. Why are you a Republican? Can't think of one good reason to be one.
I had to laugh out loud at the lib wing nut response to the RNCC posting of the Hitler/Pelosi thing. The way the libs attacked that after giving a pass to Grayson is hilariously hypocritical, so typical of the idiots that hijacked the democrats.
One Word for Steele "STUPID"
