McDonnell holds cash advantage over Deeds in final stretch

WASHINGTON (CNN) - With less than three weeks to go until Election Day, Virginia Republican Bob McDonnell holds a big cash advantage over his Democratic opponent Creigh Deeds, according to fundraising information released by both campaigns Thursday.

The McDonnell campaign announced it has $4.5 million on hand, while the Deeds campaign said it has $2.7 million.

Despite McDonnell's cash advantage over Deeds, the two campaigns raised comparable amounts during the month of September. The McDonnell campaign reported raising $3.8 million last month from a total of 6,440 donors while the Deeds campaign said it raised $3.5 million from 3,763 total donors.

A Washington Post poll released a week ago showed McDonnell leading Deeds by 9 percentage points - 53 percent to 44 percent - in a survey with a sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

Go McDonnell. Time to send a lesson to the borrow-tax-and spend left fringe now in control of government.

It doesnt matter. If money wins elections, Mitt Romney would have beat John McCain in the Republican presidential primaries. When the chips fall, we shall see. Let's wait and see. Elections are not won or lost on the pages of news papers or on online blogs.

McDonnell has more charisma than Deeds; however, I think the fact that McDonnell has not responded to the essay charge with a show of shame speaks strongly as to his true character.

I'm more concerned about someone of his views running in 2016, to be honest.

The Democrats need to send in Joe Biden and Al Gore to make some speeches and help Deeds out. Help him out of the election that is.

How sad that money is often more a factor of someone's qualifications than their intelligence, education and experience. Here's a typical Republican who hedges his bets on how much money he has to outspend his opponent. However, having money is good and when you have the education and intelligence and depth of understanding to match that Obama had when he buried the GOP in November 2008, then that is good for America. But all intelligent Americans know that there is no such thing as an educated Republican who cares more for all Americans than he or she cares for the white and rich pigs CEOs.

Hope McDonnell wins the seat, we surely do not need another bleeding heart liberal in place to vote in more welfare policies.

Sorry, I know its making for good press, but I'm just not buying that a throwback like McDonnell will win the governorship in Virginia in 2009. But I'm sure they would love him in SC 😉

Deomcrats began RECONCILIATION on health care reform today. THIS MEANS that they will CRAM it down America's throat even though a large group of Americans want NOTHING to do with it.

This also means that in key races like VA, Republicans will "MOW" over Democrats just as they will AVOID a vote.

Democrats are sealing their fates in upcoming elections because Republicans will simply say "See America? These Democrats CRAMMED it down your throats and we didn't even have a say in it because they went down the Reconciliation path." It is a winning strategy for Republicans.

Don't give me that Bush crammed Iraq down our throats either. Almost ALL Democrats in office voted TO GO TO WAR! Hypocrites, all of them.

McDonnell believes that women should stay at home.....It tells you that most Virginians have not moved past 1950s if they are supporting this idiot.

Democrats must get out and vote for Deeds or BAD MONEY SPEAKS!
Young people, please, do not vote for a Republican. They do NOT care
about you or your mom and dad!!!! They care about personal power,
    money, and greed!!!!!!!!

"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That's the world! On which hope sits!"
