Palin to campaign in Texas

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/10/02/art.plain1002.gi.jpg caption="Palin will hit the campaign trail for Rick Perry."](CNN) - Here's one place where a Sarah Palin campaign appearance is welcome: Texas.

Republican gubernatorial campaigns in Virginia and New Jersey are giving Palin the cold shoulder out of fear that she might alienate independent voters.

But it's a very different story in the Texas Republican gubernatorial primary, a conservative slugfest between Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Palin will campaign for Perry sometime next year, according to his campaign, but the dates are still being finalized. Palin endorsed the Texas governor's re-election bid earlier this year.

"She will be coming here to campaign sometime after the first of the year once she is done with her book tour," said Perry spokesman Mark Miner.

Palin's spokesman Meg Stapleton did not respond to inquiries seeking to confirm the visit.

After Palin resigned in July, Perry said he was proud to have Palin's support and boasted that she was planning to come to Texas to campaign for him. "If there's a bigger endorsement in the Republican universe, I don't know who it is than Sarah," he said at the time.

Hutchison spokesman Jeff Sadosky said both candidates will have high-profile conservatives campaigning for them as the race heads down the final stretch.

Kudos to the candidates in VA and New Jersey for showing a glimmer of intelligence and common decency in recognizing that Sarah is nothing BUT a divisive force. Look how well she worked out for McCain.

Somewhere they actually might want her... Texans might resent the fact that she's from the biggest state in the union, though.

Sarah Palin is going to defeat barry in the 2012 election and it will be a crushing blow to the anti-American socialist movement here. The left will go insane and declare that the end of the world is coming. Also, I can't wait to see barry crawl back to rev racist and bill ayers, it will be a great day.

Well, that tells you what Perry is like if he's willing to have HER campaign for him. Good heavens!

Great idea, wrong candidate. Most Republicans in Texas are disillusioned with Perry, and if Ronald Reagan himself came back from the dead to campaign for him, they still wouldn't vote for Perry.

    Perry makes LBJ look honest.

I'm a Republican who very much hopes Sarah Palin will go away before 2012! People like her and Rush Limbaugh just make the party look bad...the radically conservative minority has taken over the GOP. If she runs for President, she will be a guarantee for 4 more years of Obama.

Ah yes the intellectually challenged Palin bashers continue their rants of hate because the democrats lack a smart, sexy, charismatic women candidate for higher office. It all boils down to pure jealousy that the Republican party will claim first women elected president, and shatter the liberal feminist movement forever.

Well..... folks..... we live in a FREE Country, everyone and anyone can campaign, talk ...... whatever!

Thing is that the Republicans do not get that their campaign of hate, lies, fear and division, has been REJECTED by the American people!

Come on down to Texas. You will see thousands upon thousands of people exactly like Sarah Palin. Closed minded, bigoted, self-righteous, ignorant people are always welcome here, as long as they throw in God's name once in a while, of course. Perry is an excellent example of that. So, she'll fit right in.

Seriously? Aww...Crap. It's bad enough having to listen to Perry's idiotic rants, now they are planning on adding Palin. As a Texan who won't vote republican for the gubernatorial election, i still hope the repub's give Hutchison a shot.

Perry feels the Hutchison heat and went into desperate mode. I think it says a lot about Palin endorsing a guy who threatened to take his state from the union. Is he the only one who asked or does she really think he's the best choice???
