Palin to campaign in Texas

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/10/02/art.plain1002.gi.jpg caption="Palin will hit the campaign trail for Rick Perry."](CNN) - Here's one place where a Sarah Palin campaign appearance is welcome: Texas.

Republican gubernatorial campaigns in Virginia and New Jersey are giving Palin the cold shoulder out of fear that she might alienate independent voters.

But it's a very different story in the Texas Republican gubernatorial primary, a conservative slugfest between Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Palin will campaign for Perry sometime next year, according to his campaign, but the dates are still being finalized. Palin endorsed the Texas governor's re-election bid earlier this year.

"She will be coming here to campaign sometime after the first of the year once she is done with her book tour," said Perry spokesman Mark Miner.

Palin's spokesman Meg Stapleton did not respond to inquiries seeking to confirm the visit.

After Palin resigned in July, Perry said he was proud to have Palin's support and boasted that she was planning to come to Texas to campaign for him. "If there's a bigger endorsement in the Republican universe, I don't know who it is than Sarah," he said at the time.

Hutchison spokesman Jeff Sadosky said both candidates will have high-profile conservatives campaigning for them as the race heads down the final stretch.

Perry does make "W" look like a genius, so he does need some help.

Gah...as if my state isn't looking nutty enough thanks to Governor Blowdry's latest shenanigans :)! Hard to be a libberal Democrat in Texas much?!? You betcha!! I'm the black sheep of my family!!

Good for Perry. Palin is certain to bring folks around to see the corrupt
governor as a good guy. Somehow, Perry's use of Palin to promote a potential secessionist who makes questionable life and death decisions
    seems to help define Sarah.

She fits right in down in Texas, land of far-fetched fantasies. This will doom Perry. It's difficult to say what, if any, real effect this will have in the overall political picture there, because Hutchison is a political snake.

Ms. Palin had better keep watching the news coverage of Perry. Between his support of the Tea Party goons and talk of secession he is on the path of becoming a bigger embarrassment than his predecessor, "W".
It's becoming increasingly clear that he signed off on the execution of a man who may have been innocent. What would he say to that, "opps, my bad"?

Good, that'll be the final nail in the coffin of Guv. Goodhair's run as governor of this state. Good riddance. As one of the 61% of this State's voters who REFUSED to vote for him in the last election, I'll be glad when he's history.

She won't show up. Once a person makes big bucks for speaking to commies, they aren't going to get into small potatoes races in Texas.

Please, no. Don't let her come to Texas, but if she does, please let her take Perry back to Alaska with her.
I do have to admit though, I think she will hurt him more than she will help. I am glad about that. Only the stupid Rs in Texas love her. The smart ones know she is just a poster for the R name, a celebrity no one really wants running anything. Lets see if she can be laughed off stages in Texas. Of course she would get a warm welcome by any Perry fans. But I don't think she will be swinging anyone.

Of course Texas, everything's dumber in Texas!

Look, they sent Bush to the capitol to run their state, do you really think they would shy away from another moron in Texas?

    Keep her. LOL.

No really, Alaska and Texas can secede from the US. The new country they form can be a sanctuary for the underintelligent. A wonderous place where they reject all science in favor of gut-instinct and fairytales handed down. Where fact is replaced with truth and hear-say. In other words, things will stay the same in those former states.

SHE IS NOT WELCOME IN AUSTIN!!! Please do not generalize, not everyone living in Texas welcomes her. She is a disgrace if anything.

It is not at all surprising that Palin would campaign for Perry here in Texas. I've lived in Texas on and off for the last 40 years and it is truly, as it is proudly touted in a recent television commercial, "a whole different country". Yes, they are proud of their southern heritage here. In fact, they are so proud I'm sure the majority of them would love to turn back the lessons of history and return to those glorious days when white men totally ruled the state. Oh wait, they STILL totally rule the state.

Hey Gov. Perry ... nothing like "Sarah the quitter" supporting a governor who closed down an arson investigation that could have proven a man (in your state) was put to death for a crime he didn't commit. Way to go! Conclusion: a jerk supporting a jerk!

POT MEET KETTLE111111 – two peas in a pod why would Rick- let's secede from the US-not want his fenakle clone to speak for hum??? From what I have seen from town meetings, lots of Texanx are as out of touch with reality as the two of them. Since he seems to have allowed some one to be executed before all the facts were checked, maybe they can talk about death panels since he seems to already have established one in Texas.Wow after that rally, his opponent can truly say that je jas been hanging around with a terrorist because that is exactly what Sarah Palin is – a domestic terrorist who attempts to gain attention by making listeners afraid and fearful. So followers get out your hats, boots, confederate flags and starp on those guns and head out to the whack job rally

But Perry is evil! He turned US Taxes paid-for highways into toll roads... and then sold them to Spain. Now Spain is pushing for the Trans Texas Corridor superhighway. He's selling away the US infrastructure to foreign companies.

Hutchison just shot up in the polls, and she's worthless, too.

Hutchison should have stuck to something she knows well – cheerleading; it's a national pasttime down here!
